Abstract: A composite locking upright having low weight and great rigidity for installation into a playing surface with built-in sleeves, supporting and securing a net at a playing height for athletic sports such as, volleyball, tennis, and badminton. The composite locking upright may have a composite tube, a multi-material tube, an upper protective collar, and in some embodiments a lower protective collar, and a locking tool. The composite tube may be made of a light-weight, fiber-reinforced composite. The multi-material tube may be made at least in part of the same material and may incorporate at least one abrasion resistant area, which may be a partial or full thickness insert which may be formed of a metal. The multi-material tube is extendable and retractable from the composite. The locking tool locks the multi-material tube with respect to the composite tube and thereby fixes a net at a playing height.

Abstract: A portable jump training apparatus designed for portability that permits an athlete to safely measure their vertical leap in any number of venues where a jump training apparatus might be utilized is provided. The portable jump training apparatus may include a jump measurement device, a height adjustment post, and an external surface mount. The height adjustment post may be joined to the jump measurement device such that they are positionally fixed with respect to one another. The external surface mount may include at least one adjustable gripping device to releasably secure the external surface mount to an external mounting surface. Also, the external surface mount may include a translation guide configured for translational cooperation with the height adjustment post such that the position of the jump measurement device may be adjusted with respect to the stationary external surface mount.

Abstract: A safety jump training apparatus designed for safely mounting on a wall to permit an athlete to safely measure their vertical leap. The safety jump training apparatus includes a jump measurement device and a rotating support to rotably attach the measurement device to a mounting plate, as well as numerous safety features. The safety features include cooperating locking pin recesses and a locking pin to secure the apparatus in either an operating position or a storage position, a lock to adjustably secure the vertical height of the measurement device, a translation resistor to control the movement of the measurement device when the lock is disengaged, a safety position limiter to ensure that the measurement device is always a predetermined distance above the ground, and a safety cover to safely contain majority of the apparatus.
