  • Patent number: 11657809
Abstract: Methods, systems, and related products that provide detection of media content items that are under-locatable by machine voice-driven retrieval of uttered requests for retrieval of the media items. For a given media item, a resolvability value and/or an utterance resolve frequency is calculated by a number of playbacks of the media item by a speech retrieval modality to a total number of playbacks of the media item regardless of retrieval modality. In some examples, the methods, systems and related products also provide for improvement in the locatability of an under-locatable media item by collecting and/or generating one or more pronunciation aliases for the under-locatable item.

  • Patent number: 11658979
Abstract: A method for providing access to media content from a media content provider is performed at an electronic device. The method includes receiving, from a client device, a request for access to a media item. The request for access includes a self-describing user-identifier. The method includes, in response to the request for access to the media item, initiating an analysis to determine whether the client device is authorized to access the media item, the analysis including an examination of a media consumption log associated with the client device. The media consumption log stores data representing self-describing user-identifiers. The analysis includes, based on the examination of the media consumption log, detecting multiple requests from different self-describing user identifiers corresponding to the client device to determine whether the client device has reached an access limit and, when the client device has reached the access limit, terminating access to the media item.

  • Publication number: 20230153349
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer programs for generating a playlist of media content items without explicit content. A vector space is created that represents explicit and non-explicit tracks in the same playlists created by other users and then tracks are filtered based on cosine distance between the “seed tracks” and all the tracks in the aforementioned playlist. The explicit tracks are filtered out, and tracks are sorted based on the affinity of the user to the artist.

  • Patent number: 11651758
Abstract: An electronic device segments a first and second MIDI files into pluralities of source segments and target segments. For each of a plurality of consecutive pairs of first and second target segments, the electronic device identifies a first source segment corresponding to the first target segment of the consecutive pair and identifies a second source segment corresponding to the second target segment of the consecutive pair, where the first and second source segments are identified by determining that the first and second source segments are harmonically conformant to the corresponding first and second target segments, and determining that a transition between the first and second source segments is graphically conformant to a transition between a consecutive pair of source segments. The electronic device generates a third MIDI file using the identified first and second source segments for each of the plurality of consecutive pairs of first and second target segments.

  • Publication number: 20230144529
Abstract: A system for supporting a user’s repetitive motion activity operates to manage cadence-based playlists identifying one or more media content items having a tempo corresponding to a user’s cadence. The cadence-based playlists can be categorized by different tempi or tempo ranges that cover all likely cadences during the user’s activities. A media-playback device is provided to acquire a user’s cadence and retrieve a cadence-based playlist associated with a tempo or a tempo range corresponding to the cadence.

  • Patent number: 11647245
Abstract: A method for media presentation in a vehicle includes receiving a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) advertising message from a user interface (UI) device. The method includes: waking an application module of the first wireless device; authorizing the UI device to remotely control media presentation as presented by the application module; and determining whether the first wireless device is paired or in a current cabled connection with a vehicle head unit of the vehicle. The method includes, when the first wireless device is paired or in a current cabled connection with the vehicle head unit, selecting the first wireless device for subsequent communication with the UI device to control the media presentation, and when the first wireless device is not paired with the vehicle head unit and not in a current cabled connection with the vehicle head unit, terminating the authorization of the UI device to remotely control media presentation.

  • Patent number: 11640423
Abstract: A server system obtains a collection of images, each image in the collection of images being associated with a first set of text descriptors. The server system obtains a media item being associated with a second set of text descriptors. The server system selects a subset of the collection of images, including: selecting an initial subset of the collection of images, wherein the initial subset of the collection of images consists of images that share a text descriptor with the media item; obtaining a set of preferences for a user of the media-providing service; and selecting the subset of the collection of images from the initial subset of the collection of images based on the set of preferences for the user of the media-providing service. The server system concurrently presents: a respective image of the subset of the collection of images; and the media item.

  • Publication number: 20230125789
Abstract: A system, method and computer product for training a neural network system. The method comprises inputting an audio signal to the system to generate plural outputs f(X, ?). The audio signal includes one or more of vocal content and/or musical instrument content, and each output f(X, ?) corresponds to a respective one of the different content types. The method also comprises comparing individual outputs f(X, ?) of the neural network system to corresponding target signals. For each compared output f(X, ?), at least one parameter of the system is adjusted to reduce a result of the comparing performed for the output f(X, ?), to train the system to estimate the different content types. In one example embodiment, the system comprises a U-Net architecture. After training, the system can estimate various different types of vocal and/or instrument components of an audio signal, depending on which type of component(s) the system is trained to estimate.

  • Patent number: 11636835
Abstract: A lyrics analyzer generates tags and explicitness indicators for a set of tracks. These tags may indicate the genre, mood, occasion, or other features of each track. The lyrics analyzer does so by generating an n-dimensional vector relating to a set of topics extracted from the lyrics and then using those vectors to train a classifier to determine whether each tag applies to each track. The lyrics analyzer may also generate playlists for a user based on a single seed song by comparing the lyrics vector or the lyrics and acoustics vectors of the seed song to other songs to select songs that closely match the seed song. Such a playlist generator may also take into account the tags generated for each track.

  • Publication number: 20230106825
Abstract: Technology for generating, reading, and using machine-readable codes is disclosed. There is a method, performed by an image capture device, for reading and using the codes. The method includes obtaining an image, identifying an area in the image having a machine-readable code. The method also includes, within the image area, finding a predefined start marker defining a start point and a predefined stop marker defining a stop point, an axis being defined there between. A plurality of axis points can be defined along the axis. For each axis point, a first distance within the image area to a mark is determined. The distance can be measured from the axis point in a first direction which is orthogonal to the axis. The first distances can be converted to a binary code using Gray code such that each first distance encodes at least one bit of data in the code.

  • Patent number: 11620972
Abstract: In accordance with an embodiment, described herein is a system and method for association of a song, music, or other media content with a user's video content. The system enables a user to associate a song, music, or other media content that is associated with an audio clip and a song metadata of a media content, with a video they are about to create, or have created, to create a video moment. A recipient of the video moment can hear the audio clip in combination with the video content, and also view the song metadata overlay, to determine the name of the song and artist that was used in the video, or optionally access the song at a media server, for further listening by the recipient.

  • Patent number: 11621001
Abstract: Methods, systems, and related products that provide emotion-sensitive responses to user's commands and other utterances received at an utterance-based user interface. Acknowledgements of user's utterances are adapted to the user and/or the user device, and emotions detected in the user's utterance that have been mapped from one or more emotion features extracted from the utterance. In some examples, extraction of a user's changing emotion during a sequence of interactions is used to generate a response to a user's uttered command. In some examples, emotion processing and command processing of natural utterances are performed asynchronously.
