  • Patent number: 4524887
Abstract: A heated filter arrangement is disclosed for apparatus for spraying or dispensing at predetermined intervals a predetermined amount of hot-melt adhesive so as to maintain the viscosity of the adhesive as it passes through the filter. The arrangement provides a heated filter between the adhesive supply line and the adhesive spray apparatus. A filter housing is provided in the outlet end of the supply hose. A heating element within the hose is used to heat the housing. A screen filter is positioned within the housing such that the adhesive flowing therethrough is maintained at a predetermined temperature. The outlet of the hose is connected to adhesive apparatus. In one embodiment, the filter is attached to a plug which is threadingly fitted in a hole at the outlet end of the hose. In this manner the filter extends up within its housing within the hose and the filter may be replaced or serviced without disturbing the connection between the supply hose and the adhesive applicator gun.
