  • Patent number: 5984149
Abstract: A trigger pump dispenser is made entirely from thermoplastic resin materials. It has a trigger (17) pivotally attached to the body (13) at its top end. The trigger is attached by a living hinge to a piston 16 movable within a pump cylinder (40), and is biased by a spring (18) to the retracted position shown. The spring is generally L-shaped and anchored to the body by its bottom leg so as to straddle the pump cylinder. A unitary valve member (15) located at the back of the pump cylinder provides one-way valves both for product dispensing and for product recharging into the pump chamber.

  • Patent number: 5884820
Abstract: A trigger pump dispenser has a unitary valve member (15) which is push-fitted into the back of the pump chamber (38). The valve member is moulded from a thermoplastic elastomer and has an inner dome (116) arranged to form the one-way valve in the inlet flow path, and an external skirt (112) arranged to form the one-way valve in the outlet flow path. Apertures (120) formed around the dome form a part of both flow paths. The trigger (17) of the dispenser is secured to the piston (16) by an integral extension (54) which is attached by a living hinge (52), and the spring (18) for the trigger is generally L-shaped, its lower arm being secured to the dispenser body (13) and its upper arm being flexible and resilient and having its free end snap-engaged in a socket formed in the back of the trigger.
