Patent number: 4808952Abstract: There are arranged at a magnetic trigger for a selectively operative switch, a plunger-type armature, a pivotable armature and a tripping device. A plunger of the plunger-type armature acts directly upon a movable contact of a pair of contacts and the plunger-type armature is actuated using a magnetic coil or winding when the current flowing through the magnetic coil at least corresponds to a predetermined threshold current for opening the contacts. A pivotable armature is actuated by the plunger-type armature and redirects the magnetic return flux. The tripping device acts upon a switch lock mechanism and is switched into or out of the magnetic return flux by the plunger-type armature. The degree of overlap between pole shoes of the pivotable armature and of the tripping device is preselectable by an adjusting screw. There is thus realized a current-dependent, selective tripping of the switch lock mechanism.Type: GrantFiled: December 14, 1987Date of Patent: February 28, 1989Assignee: Sprecher & Schuh AGInventors: Jorg Berner, Markus Anliker, Willy Feller, Werner Breer

Patent number: 4598264Abstract: Two similar switch apparatuses are mounted in switching direction at equidirectional closing direction onto a base. Each apparatus has an extension which is movable together with the armature of the corresponding apparatus and which extends in a respective L-coulisse of a two-armed lever placed on a stub shaft of a casing of one of the switch apparatuses to pivot thereabout. If one of the switch apparatuses carries out its switch closing operation, its extension moves in a path section of the coulisse at an acute angle relative to the direction of radius, causing a counterclockwise pivoting movement of the lever. Conclusively, the extension of the other switch apparatus will be caused to be located into a path section of its coulisse extending circularly around the stub such that the latter extension is blocked, preventing a switching movement.Type: GrantFiled: November 15, 1984Date of Patent: July 1, 1986Assignee: Sprecher & Schuh AGInventor: Heinz Suter

Patent number: 4580117Abstract: A rocking beam is movable into an "on" and an "off" position by actuating means which actuate linkage means and work against the force of a spring urging the beam into an intermediate trip-position. Through a guide surface the beam actuates a toggle assembly composed of two toggle levers linked by a toggle joint and having distal joints linked with a contact actuating lever and a pawl lever, respectively. When the pawl lever is restrained by the ratchet, the movement of the toggle joint caused by moving the actuating means into the "on" or "off" position results only in the opening and closing of contacts through a movement of their actuating lever. A readiness for switching on can be obtained by resetting the actuating means from the trip-position into the "off" position.Type: GrantFiled: September 12, 1983Date of Patent: April 1, 1986Assignee: Sprecher & Schuh AGInventors: Peter Hilfiker, Ladislav Mirocha

Patent number: 4578659Abstract: The coupling system is assembled upon the placing of the auxiliary contact block including its dogs integrally formed at its bearing surface and its coupling member including a coulisse onto the switch apparatus followed by a shifting of the auxiliary contact block. When placing the auxiliary contact block onto the switch apparatus the dogs engage between tooth-shaped projections in the trough built on the switch apparatus. During the shifting carried out thereafter, the dogs are shifted under the projections and moved into engagement. A catch is located in the trough, which catch is integrally formed on the movable contact carrier of the switch apparatus and which catch upon shifting of the auxiliary contact block is moved in the coulisse of the coupling member formed on the auxiliary contact carrier. This form locked and releasable coupling is safeguarded against a shifting by means of locking members.Type: GrantFiled: November 15, 1984Date of Patent: March 25, 1986Assignee: Sprecher & Schuh AGInventors: Heinz Suter, Alex Blum
