Abstract: A method, system, and medium are provided for facilitating message recalls. One embodiment includes receiving an indication that a message has been communicated in association with a user device. A confirmation message is communicated to the user device. The confirmation message includes a recall option that, if selected, initiates a recall of the voice message. An indication of a user selection of the recall option is received and, thereafter, a recall of the message is initiated.

Abstract: A method of transmitting digital content. The method comprises receiving an electronic shopping cart identifying at least a first shopping item and determining that the first shopping item is an item of digital content based on analyzing the electronic shopping cart. The method further comprises analyzing a demand for communication network resources and estimating a congestion of a communication network, building a plurality of offers for wirelessly transmitting the first shopping item to a wireless communication device based on analyzing the demand for communication network resources and based on estimating the congestion of the communication network. The method further comprises transmitting the plurality of offers, receiving a selection of one of the offers, and transmitting the digital content based on the selected offer.

Abstract: A computer implemented method for user interface navigation engine is provided. A number of items to display is determined based on an interface screen parameter. The number of items is displayed based on the numerical position on a list selected for display. A displayed item is highlighted, wherein a position of the highlighted displayed item on a screen indicates a position relation of the displayed number of items to the count of items in the list.

Abstract: A pre-paid mobile phone cash wallet system. The system comprises a processor, a memory, and an application stored in the memory. When executed by the processor, the application receives an initiation message of a pre-paid mobile phone cash wallet, wherein the initiation message identifies a pre-paid wireless communication account, an amount of money presented, and a wallet initiation agent, creates the wallet, where a funds balance of the wallet initially comprises at least a portion of the amount of money presented, persists an association between the wallet and the wallet initiation agent in a memory, and determines a monetary reward for the wallet initiation agent.

Abstract: A mobile data service is delivered to a mobile device having a camera for capturing a live scene, a GPS receiver for determining geographic coordinates of the mobile device, and a display for displaying the live scene. A wireless network exchanges data signals with the mobile device. A server stores a database of virtual objects defined within a geographic space. The server receives the geographic coordinates of the mobile device. The server identifies one or more virtual objects within a field of view in the geographic space determined in response to the geographic coordinates of the mobile device. The server transmits representation image data to the mobile device corresponding to the one or more virtual objects as would be seen according to the field of view. The mobile device generates a representation on the display in response to the representation image data.

Abstract: A method, system, and medium are provided for estimating user throughput as a function of network load. The function that governs a relationship between user throughput and network load is derived after simulating network traffic during busy hours on a wireless network. The simulated traffic is shaped to be similar to packet traffic received on the network. In turn, the simulated traffic is assigned to one or more carriers that are configured to resemble the network carriers. Upon processing the simulated traffic, user throughput is calculated and a function is derived from the network load during the busy hour and the calculated user throughput. The derived function is employed to predict the load at which user throughput falls below acceptable levels.

Abstract: A wireless communication device exchanges data with a source base station. Based on location, velocity, and direction of the wireless communication device, an off-network transit between a source base station and a target base station is identified. The wireless communication device transfers an off-network transit request to the source base station, indicating the target base station and a time. The wireless communication device receives an off-network transit response from the source base station, indicating the target base station, a target frequency, and authorization data. The wireless communication device enters a dormant mode until the time. When the time is reached, the wireless communication device transfers authorization data to the target base station and exchanges second data with the target base station.

Abstract: A computer based method is provided. The computer based method comprises a first electronic device launching an application and, in response to launching the application, the first electronic device receiving a first message from a second electronic device. The first message comprises a first link. The computer based method further comprises the first electronic device configuring a graphical user interface of the application to couple a dynamic selector of the graphical user interface to the first link and presenting a first screen of the graphical user interface, the first screen comprising the dynamic selector and a plurality of static selectors, wherein selecting the dynamic selector activates the first link.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and software for providing a wireless local area network to user devices using a wireless access node are provided herein. In one example, a method of operating a wireless access node is provided. The method includes providing a wireless local area network for user devices, selecting a first wireless backhaul link for communications of the wireless local area network from among a plurality of wireless links provided by a plurality of wireless access nodes based on at least signal strengths of the wireless links, and selecting a second wireless backhaul link as a backup for the first wireless backhaul link from among the plurality of wireless links based on at least the signal strengths and uptime information of the wireless links.

Abstract: An apparatus, system, and method for preventing passive intermodulation (PIM) in radio frequency (RF) connectors are provided. RF connectors that function in a telecommunication environment are re-designed and forged to have tags or portions that extend from the body. The tags or portions have holes that can receive screws to secure RF connectors together are secure an RF connector to a device. The screws are placed in the RF connectors and are connected together with safety wire such that a loosening motion of one screw causes a tightening motion on another screw.

Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein provide systems and methods for selectively discarding Diameter protocol messages in an LTE communication system. In a particular embodiment, a method provides receiving a plurality of Diameter protocol messages at the communication control system and determining a measure of Diameter message congestion. If the measure of Diameter message congestion satisfies a congestion criteria, the method provides determining a priority of at least one message of the plurality of Diameter protocol messages. Messages associated with communication sessions participating in a data session have higher priority than messages associated with communication sessions currently establishing and the messages associated with communication sessions currently establishing have higher priority than messages associated with initiating communication sessions.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method, network management system, and network clients are provided for out-of-band network security management. The network management system includes routers, firewalls, and out-of-band interfaces. The out-of-band interface of the network management system transmits access control lists to network clients connected to a trusted network. The trusted network connects the routers, firewalls, and network clients. The firewalls receive access control lists from the network management system to police communications that traverse the trusted network and an untrusted network. The routers receive access control lists from the network management system to police communications that traverse the router within the trusted network. The access control lists for the routers and firewalls are transmitted over a network interface to the trusted network and are transmitted separately from the access control lists for the network clients.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for migrating from coaxial cable to hybrid cable base station installations with zero or partial down-time are provided. In embodiments, the method includes determining, based on operational measurement data, a sector associated with a base station having the least traffic. Each sector supported by two conduits feeding two coaxial cables to an antenna. A channel count associated with the determined sector is reduced so that all transmits fit on a single coaxial cable resulting in an unused conduit and an unused coaxial cable. A hybrid cable is installed and activated so that all traffic for the determined sector is moved to the hybrid cable. Additional hybrid cables are installed to replace unused coaxial cables until traffic for all sectors has been moved to hybrid cables, which frees half the conduits for other use.

Abstract: A method of troubleshooting a communication service is disclosed. The method comprises creating an association between a customer premise equipment (CPE) in a customer network and a communication service provider router providing the communication service. The method also comprises determining a CPE configuration of the CPE in the customer network and a router configuration of the communication service provider router providing communication services to the CPE based on the association. The method also comprises determining CPE measurements associated with the CPE and router measurements associated with the router based on the association, and determining whether the CPE measurements and the router measurements are normal based on an analysis of the CPE configuration and the router configuration. The method then identifies a cause of the abnormal measurements, determines a corrective action for the identified cause, and issue a trouble ticket indicating the cause and the corrective action.

Abstract: A method, system, and medium are provided for efficiently providing multimedia services from a multimedia system. A script server is included with the multimedia system to host common scripts for invoking media-related functions from media servers. When an application server within the multimedia system runs an application and determines a media-related function is required, a script for the required media-related function is accessed from the script server. The script is run to invoke the media-related function from a media server.

Abstract: Systems and methods for assigning unique network identifiers in a packet-switched wired network and methods for communicating with a network device in a packet-switched wired network are provided. A request for a unique network identifier for a network device is received. A socket-based unique network identifier, including an IP address and one or more ports, is assigned to the network device. The unique network identifier is created by combining an IP address and one or more ports. This allows multiple unique network identifiers to be created from a single IP address, where each unique network identifier consists of the same IP address combined with a different group of one or more ports.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and software for operating a wireless communication system are provided herein. In one example, a method of operating a wireless communication system is provided. The method includes transferring, for delivery to user devices, overhead signaling for a non-long term evolution (LTE) communication protocol over an LTE signaling pathway. The method also includes identifying control channel congestion for wireless communications exchanged with the user devices over a LTE signaling pathway. The method also includes determining when the control channel congestion exceeds a congestion threshold, and responsively transferring the overhead signaling for the non-LTE communication protocol using a non-LTE signaling pathway to ones of the user devices having power headrooms exceeding a headroom threshold.

Abstract: A mobile access terminal (MAT) for use in an internet protocol multimedia system (IMS). The mobile access terminal comprises a first region of memory, a device application stored in the first region of memory, a second region of memory that implements a trusted security sector, and a centralized media controller application stored in the trusted security sector. The centralized media controller application is mated and paired with an incident internet protocol multimedia system network and wherein the centralized media controller application authenticates the device application and provides the device application with communications connectivity with the incident internet protocol multimedia system network.

Abstract: A method of responding to a network connection failure in a mobile communication device. The method comprises receiving an error message indicating a data connection failure, activating an application configured to attempt to access the network using a first identifier on the mobile communication device in response to receiving the error message, sending an SMS message from the mobile communication device over an SMS control channel in an attempt to access the network, receiving information indicating a failure to access the network through the SMS control channel, determining that the failure to access the network is based on the first identifier, performing a limited reset of the mobile communication device to replace the first identifier with a factory default identifier, confirming through use of the factory default identifier that the first identifier is inactive, and establishing the factory default identifier such that the mobile communication device is configured for activation.

Abstract: A multimedia product placement marketplace is provided. A media player presents primary media content received over a first channel. A media component presents auxiliary media content received over a second channel, and selects a portion of an auxiliary media content related to the primary media content, which may have been presented by the media player during a previous time period. If the selected portion of the auxiliary media content is associated with at least one item of information, the media component receives the information over a second channel, and displays the received information via a user interface on the handset. The received information includes a link to a commerce server that provides a commercially available product and/or a commercially available service related to the selected portion of the auxiliary media content to enable a transaction. The link may be based on a highest value bid within a period of time.
