  • Patent number: 7241128
Abstract: In a roller adjustment apparatus for an extrusion mill, comprising a cylindrical die (2) with radially extending extrusion channels and a number of rollers (1) within the die, rotatable about their axes and co-operating with the die to press material to be treated through the extrusion channels in the die wall, the adjustment apparatus comprises eccentrically journalled bearing shafts (3) for mounting the rollers (1), said eccentrically journalling of the shafts (3) providing a radial adjustment of the position of the rollers (1) relative to the die (2), the rotation of the eccentrically journalled shafts (3) is provided by means of extension arms (6) fixedly mounted on the ends of the eccentrically journalled shafts (3), and said extension arms (6) being connected to an axially movable connection element (8) by means of articulated connected linkage rods (7), and said connection element (8) being connected to a rod (9) provided with its axis in the axis of the die (2) and extending to a position outside the

  • Patent number: 7040560
Abstract: In a rotor construction for hammer- or chopper mills the rotor is formed by a cylindrical shell structure (2) transversally profiled for providing a drum surface comprising at least one longitudinally extending recess (6) for accommodation of base portions of chopper members. In the rotor construction the at least one recess (6) is provided with chopper positioning means (8, 18) at fixed locations for lateral stabilisation of said base portions and for stable accommodation of shaft members (12) for pivotable attachment of said chopper members (14).

  • Patent number: 6935855
Abstract: The inventions relates to an extrusion apparatus suited for water-containing products which heat-expand by internal boiling of water by pressure relief after passing through extrusion nozzles. The apparatus comprises a) an extruder, which at the outlet end thereof comprises a nozzle plate, b) a pressure-controlling chamber for controlling the pressure on the outlet side of the nozzle plate, said pressure-controlling chamber possibly containing a cutting-off unit, and c) a sluice unit downstream of the pressure controlling chamber. The apparatus furthermore comprises that the pressure-controlling chamber and sluice unit being releasably interconnected and at least the sluice unit being mounted movably in and out of the product stream.

  • Patent number: 6531077
Abstract: In the extrusion of feed-stuff pellets and relevant consumer products, the extruded products are subject to expansion as a result of the boiling of their water content when the products, after being exposed to high extrusion pressure and a correspondingly high temperature, are discharged to the atmosphere through the extrusion nozzles. Such an expansion is directly aimed at, but it is desirable to be able to control it, which is difficult by adjustment of the ordinary process parameters. With the invention it has been found that the expansion which arises can be controlled in a highly constant manner, i.e. by carrying out the extrusion into a closed chamber in which an over-pressure of a few bar is established in relation to the atmospheric pressure, and which can be regulated. The extrusion products can be continuously discharged from this chamber, or they can be discharged intermittently in portions.

  • Patent number: 6383562
Abstract: In practice it is desirable to enrich feedstuff pellets with various additives in quite small amounts, e.g. only 100 g per ton, preferably that they are sprayed in a dissolved or suspended state on a flat stream of the pellets in cold condition. It is known to arrange this by using a falling stream of the pellets along an inclined chute. However, it is difficult hereby to achieve any particularly good dosing precision of the sprayed materials, some of which can be quite expensive. Moreover, the associated plants are difficult to install in normal premises. With the invention, a flat stream is produced by using an ejector wheel, whereby the chute can be quite short for reducing the construction height and, at the same time that this in itself improves the dosing accuracy, use is made of a continuous mass flow measurement which is used for the regulation of the dosing or the ejector capacity in achieving extra good liquid-dosing precision.

  • Patent number: 5811699
Abstract: A method and system for handling simple materials in, for example, mixing plants, for enabling a central analysis of the samples. The samples are automatically and frequently taken from outlets of silos and are brought unwrapped and successively to an automatic near infrared reflection analyzing station through an pneumatic conveyor system with substantially common type sections between the station and the single samples. Sample portions which are larger than required for analysis are removed so as to counteract the risk of contamination of the samples, with the large sample portions then being returned to the silos of origin through another pneumatic conveyor system.
