    Abstract: A yarn spinning and twisting machine which includes a drive transmission from a drive source to a plurality of spinning rings carried by vertically movable platforms and having a control for delaying the starting of the drive transmitted to the spinning rings at the start-up of the machine and for disestablishing the drive to the spinning rings before the end of the last cycle of the machine to maintain the yarn in taut condition and minimize breakage of the yarn.
