Abstract: A network video game pertinently displays information of another character operated by another player without unnecessarily occupying a screen. A player computer capable of connecting to a server via a network displays the other character operated by another computer connected to the server. When a player character operated by the player computer is disposed within a predetermined distance from the other character, information about the other character is displayed near the other character. Because the information of the other character is displayed only when the player character is disposed within a predetermined distance from the other character, the screen is not always occupied by the character information.

Abstract: A light trace expressing a trace generated in a case where a light source is moved in a virtual three-dimensional space can be displayed with higher reality. An initially used table or the like is initialized. Next, a light source or the like is moved by an operation input or the like. Subsequently, perspective transformation is carried out to obtain a position of the light source on a display screen. Next, a polygon having a predetermined width is generated along a new movement locus of the light source on the display screen. Then, transparency of all the generated polygons is raised. In the polygon generated earlier, the transparency increases. Then, a texture in which the brightness is high along the movement locus of the light source and the brightness of a position decreases as the position departs from the movement locus, is mapped to the polygon. Thereafter, &agr; blending is used to draw the polygon on the movement locus of the light source. The drawn image is displayed on the display screen.
