Abstract: A strain relief coupling assembly is disclosed for use for connecting a living body with medical monitoring device which records electrical signals generated by the body. The present invention provides mechanical separation between an adhesive pregelled electrode attached to the skin of the patient and an electrical lead transmitting signals to the monitoring device. The assembly thus reduces disturbances of the skin-to-gel contact site caused by the patient's movements, and results in a minimized noise component of recorded signals, effectively improving the quality of recorded traces for monitoring or measurement.
