  • Patent number: 5391416
Abstract: An automobile glass pane prepared for adhesive bonding to the fastening flange of a window frame comprises a profiled spacer having a web aligned approximately perpendicular to the glass pane. Adjacent the web is a bead of a plastic adhesive having a high adhesion with respect to the spacer and with respect to the fastening flange. The bead of plastic adhesive, moreover, is of relatively high shear strength and is arranged on the side directed towards the border of the pane. Arranged on the other side of the web is a bead of a reaction adhesive composition. This web has a height corresponding to the minimum distance of the glass pane from the fastening flange. The bead of plastic adhesive serves to fix the glass pane in its installed position during the hardening phase of the reaction adhesive composition.

  • Patent number: 5384995
Abstract: A motor vehicle glazing (1) prepared for installation according to the adhesive process is provided with a profiled spacer (8) produced by extrusion of an extrudable polymer directly onto glazing (1) and subsequent setting. During installation of glazing (1) in the window opening of the motor vehicle body, profiled spacer (8) acts as an intermediate member between glazing (1) and assembly adhesive extrudate (13). Profiled spacer (8) is provided along its outer periphery with a lip portion (10) projecting beyond peripheral area (3) of glazing (1). In the installed position of glazing (1), lip portion (10) rest against the window frame flange (4) running parallel to peripheral area (3) of glazing (1) and acts, upon insertion of the glazing during the setting process of assembly adhesive (13), as a support and centering element for glazing (1).

  • Patent number: 4423558
Abstract: A heat exchanger for exchanging heat between solid particles and a gas where the particles fall vertically through a column under gravitational forces and the gas flows upwardly in the column. The heat exchanger has at least one stage in the column including a stack of packing elements supported by a support having openings through which gas may flow at a velocity sufficient to form a loose fluidized bed of particles. A grill is positioned in the lower part of the column through which gas may flow to support a dense fluidized bed of particles.
