    Abstract: A variety of substances are known which promote host resistance to bacterial and viral infections. Lowever, because of the unpredictable vagaries of such organisms, there is seemingly a never ending need for antimicrobials, particularly those with antiviral activity. Antimicrobials are provided herein which are effective in inducing resistance to infections due to such bacteria as staphylococci and such viruses as RS virus.
