Patents Assigned to Staeubli, Ltd.
  • Patent number: 4185666
Abstract: An adjusting device in the connecting path between the jack lever of a dobby and the power transmitting rod to the heddle frame of a weaving machine. This adjusting device has at most the width of the pitch of the weaving machine. The clamping and adjusting screws on the adjusting device are on the front side which does not face the dobby. For the purpose of cancelling any clearance in the connection, wedges are arranged, which hold the clamp in the fixed position. With the aid of the clamp it is possible to adjust the size of the opening and the reciprocal position of the heddle frames.

  • Patent number: 4172475
Abstract: A weaving machine comprising a dobby and a Jacquard machine as the control members, wherein the dobby is controlled from a single pattern card in the Jacquard machine. Harness cords connect the Jacquard hooks to the heddles and to a movably supported member in the dobby. The coordinated movements of the Jacquard hooks will effect a simultaneous movement of the movably supported member in the dobby so that operations of the Jacquard machine in response to the information on the pattern card will simultaneously effect an operation of the dobby.

  • Patent number: 4172476
Abstract: A dobby with a mechanical reading device for a control card having perforated and nonperforated portions therein according to a pattern. The reading needle of the reading device of the pattern card has yielding elements for the purpose of reducing the impact force of the reading needle onto the pattern card.

  • Patent number: 4154268
Abstract: A method for controlling the heddle movement in a shed-forming machine and apparatus for performing the method. Reading needles are moved into and out of engagement with a pattern card having perforated and nonperforated portions therein actively cooperating with the needles which are adapted to move toward and away therefrom. Power amplifying structure is provided for converting the control operations noted by the reading needles into mechanical movements effecting selected control of the heddles dependent upon the position of the reading needle relative to the pattern card. A lock member is movably supported on a bar and its movement is controlled by whether the reading needle is received into a perforated portion of the pattern card or whether it engages a nonperforated portion of the pattern card. A shifting of the locking member will result in a selected and simultaneous control of a correcting element to either lift a draw hook or lower same into and out of engagement with a draw knife.

  • Patent number: 4120327
Abstract: A negative double-lift dobby, Hattersley system, comprising controlled holding hooks and draw hooks. In order for the holding hook to be able to be controlled at any time, namely independent from the position of the draw hook, by the pegs of the pattern card, at least one of the cooperating hooks is arranged shiftably against the force of a spring. The invention facilitates the control of fast running weaving machines and permits through the direct control of the heddles an increase in durability by reducing faulty controls and through the possibility of the precontrol an increase of the speed of the weaving machine.

  • Patent number: 4000761
Abstract: There is provided a device for either advancing or retracting the relative movement of a dobby with respect to the heddles of a weaving machine or with respect to any one or selected ones of such heddles. Thus, the shed-intersection point within said weaving machine may be advanced or retarded with respect to the dobby with resulting desirable modifications in the finished fabric. Same is accomplished by driving both the dobby and the heddle or heddles through a pair of levers and including a device by which the angle between said levers can be modified in order to modify the operational phase angle between such dobby and such heddle or heddles.

  • Patent number: 3961649
Abstract: A heddle frame arrangement for a weaving machine having freely suspended heddles for a fast-running weaving machine. The upper bar and the lower bar of the frame are movable parallel to one another, so that not the entire frame must participate in the up and down movement. The heddles which are suspended on the movable bar each have, for balancing the movement, an elastic part.
