Abstract: An electrically insulating coating is formed on a metallic surface by applying a film of an aqueous fluoride-free composition which contains a water-dilutable synthetic resin, a dispersed waxlike substance, an inorganic or organic pigment, a borate, an alkali metal hydroxide, ammonia or an organic amine for adjusting the pH to between 7 and 9, and drying the moist film at a temperature between 120 and 350.degree. C.
Abstract: A sheet, especially an electric sheet for manufacturing laminated iron cores for generators, motors, transformers, etc. and covered on one or both sides with a thin layer consisting of an adhesive applied as a liquid to the sheet and then dried and of a filler. The sheet has as a filler on one or both sides a recticular skeletal support that is at least partly anchored with the layer of adhesive and that consists of a fibrous material that accommodates the adhesive. A woven or non-woven fabric, preferably of polyester fibers, can be used as a support.
