Optionally, the second phase also includes a material insoluble in the water. The pH of the second phase can be between 1-3, 6-8, or 9-13.
Abstract: A stock lifter for metal forming dies includes a self-contained assembly. The assembly includes a guide pin that reciprocates within a base. A hardened end cap, which contacts the stock, is attached to the guide pin. A spring is located on the exterior surface of a portion of the base and surrounds the guide pin body. One end of the spring contacts a surface on the cap, while the other end of the spring contacts a surface on the base or an optional mounting flange that is attached above the base. Thus, the stock lifter assembly has a hardened cap for the stock to slide on and a larger, externally mounted spring that provides longer life for the stock lifter. The stock lifter assembly can be made of several different lengths and sizes by using longer or wider guide pins and springs.
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a multi-layer tube comprising a thermoplastic elastomer vulcanizate inner layer, a polyolefin or polyamide intermediate layer and a foamed thermoplastic elastomeric outer layer. The intermediate layer may comprise multiple layers selected from polyolefins, adhesive, polyamides and or thermoplastic vulcanizates. The other layers may also be foamed insulative materials. An adhesive layer may be present depending upon the properties of the selected materials. One or more layers within the multi-layer tube may be foamed.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a nano-dynamic biosensor and a fabrication method therefor. A biosensor according to the present invention comprises a substrate having a hollow structure and a graphene layer formed thereon wherein a probe material is bound to the surface of the graphene layer and the resonance vibration of the hollow structure formed in the substrate is modulated as the probe material increases in weight when a target material to be detected is coupled to the probe material without being labeled, whereby the biosensor is expected to take advantage of the modulation to measure the coupling of the target material including vaccinia virus with high sensitivity on a femtogram (10?15 g) level.

Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for ensuring quality photos and categorization of stone products slab, panel, or tile (SPTs). The system photographs or scans each SPT in a consistent and standardized process that controls the camera, lens, lighting, lighting intensity, and distance between these components and the SPT being photographed or scanned. The photos are used to categorize SPTs according to color, color-shade, pattern, and grade. A unique barcode including results from categorization are printed on the SPT, and containers are filled with the same type of SPTs. The system brings uniformity to the containers, thus creating a higher market value. The photos are also used in factory inventory management and e-commerce website for natural stone customers.
Abstract: This disclosure relates to a quick connector adapted to display a code that verifies that a latch member is engaged to retain an installed pipe to the quick connector. The quick connector comprises a connector body having a receiving portion surrounding an internal passage, the internal passage arranged to receive the pipe therein. A latch member retained on the receiving portion is arranged to be movable between a pipe insertion position and a latched position. In the pipe insertion position, the latch member allows the pipe to be inserted into the internal passage. A code readable by a scanning device becomes readable when the latch member is moved to the latched position verifying that the pipe is installed and latched in the connector body.

Abstract: An assembly of a thermal probe and a probe fitting arranged to measure the temperature of a fluid medium flowing in a passage of the probe fitting. Abstract: A roofing membrane and a method of making the same is provided. The roofing membrane includes a top layer having a flame retardant and a first silane-crosslinked polyolefin elastomer with a density less than 0.90 g/cm3; a scrim layer; and a bottom layer having a flame retardant and a second silane-crosslinked polyolefin elastomer with a density less than 0.90 g/cm3. The top and bottom layers of the roofing membrane both exhibit a compression set of from about 5.0% to about 35.0%, as measured according to ASTM D 395 (22 hrs @ 70° C.).

Abstract: A system for sensing a physical property of a fluid flowing inside a composite hose includes a radio frequency identification (RFID) reader arranged to transmit radio frequency signals. An RFID tag receives the radio frequency signals and exchanges the received radio frequency to electrical energy powering the RFID tag. An included sensor electrically connected to the RFID tag receives the electrical energy from the RFID tag and powers the sensor to obtain measurement data of at least one physical property of the fluid and transmit the measurement data to the RFID tag. The RFID tag transmits the measurement data to the RFID reader using the radio frequency.
Abstract: A coated metal pipe for use as an automotive fluid transport tube is provided comprising: a single or double walled tubing formed into a circular cross-sectional profile; at least one intermediate layer primer layer applied over said tubing: and an outer layer comprising a polyamide incorporating an immiscible additive. Abstract: An assembly, connector and method is disclosed for making a fluid connection between a vessel wall and a fluid tube. The assembly includes a male connector having a cylindrical body and an internal fluid passage through the male connector between a head portion located at an upper end of the male connector and a base portion on a lower end of the male connector. An aperture is formed on the vessel wall and at least first and second recesses are formed along an edge of the aperture. The base portion has at least first and second locking members located in a spaced relation to the other on opposite sides of the base portion and a sealing flange extends circumferentially about the base portion. The base portion is arranged to be installed in the aperture with each locking member accepted within a respective recess. Rotation of the male connector causes the locking members to rotate within the aperture and seal the sealing flange against the wall.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an optical fiber BOCDA sensor. A purpose of the present invention is to provide an optical fiber BOCDA sensor which uses two phase codes to control a correlation peak position, thereby further simplifying control design and device configuration and improving spatial resolution to enhance a sensing performance and detection accuracy in comparison with the prior art.
