  • Patent number: 4588096
Abstract: A knock-down tray rack having a horizontal base member, a pair of bow-shaped support members, and a pair of unitary side panels incorporating upright sleeve members at opposite side edges thereof for receiving the upright leg members of the support members, and being provided with opposed vertically spaced ledges for supporting trays thereon. The leg members of the support members are adapted to be easily telescopingly fitted in the corresponding sleeve members of the side panels so that the bow-shaped support members span the side panels and so that the bottoms of the leg members are securely received within corresponding socket members in the base member. The base member may be further supported by casters having mounting extensions extending into the open bottom ends of the depending leg members of the bow-shaped support members.

  • Patent number: 4588974
Abstract: A coil assembly having a core and a winding on the core, wherein a contact element electrically connected to the winding is both mechanically clamped and bonded to the core. In an exemplary microcoil assembly having a C-core, a generally U-shaped contact element is bonded to each foot of the core by epoxy and mechanically clamped to the core foot to hold the contact element in position while the epoxy cures. One end of the coil winding is soldered to one of the contact elements and the other end of the winding is soldered to the other contact element. The coil assembly is subsequently soldered onto a printed circuit board. Each contact element may include a pin portion to be inserted into a printed circuit board.

  • Patent number: 4520800
Abstract: A patient treatment table includes a table frame, a hip board fixedly secured to said frame and a head board fixedly secured to said frame and spaced from said hip board. A transparent flexible arch member, of such thickness that it can maintain an adjustable height position under the patient's weight without requiring edge reinforcement, is pivotally mounted to said frame adjacent to and below the top surface of said head board and a slide member extending across the table beneath the edge of said hip board provides a pivotal support for the other end of said arch member. Said slide member may be adjusted relative to said hip board by means of an enclosed, motor driven lead screw actuator to bow said arch member upwardly from a minimum height position in which the top surface of the arch member is substantially the same as the upper surfaces of said head and hip boards.

  • Patent number: 4362922
Abstract: Disclosed is an air make-up unit mounted within the confines of a conventional outside wall of a frame building between the 16" on-center studs. The unit includes a rotary blower with a horizontal tangential discharge, the latter having heating elements therein and being encased in a vertical wall of insulation which extends within an insulated air chamber defined by a telescoping outer casing. Positive air pressure is maintained within the building by air-pressure-sensitive controls located within the building and controlling the two-speed motor. The latter is thermostatically controlled to be operated at a slower speed when colder weather prevails. It is also controlled and energized by a humidistat located within the building to force outside air into the building and diminish the humidity therein when needed.

  • Patent number: 4321105
Abstract: A method for producing embossed designs on work surfaces such as on molds, rolls or dies. A photomechanically imageable transfer material is exposed to the design to be embossed. The material is developed and the acid resistant design material remaining on a backing sheet is mechanically transferred to the work surface by burnishing the back of the backing sheet. The surface is then etched and the acid resistant design elements removed so that the embossed work surface is ready for use.

  • Patent number: 4232281
Abstract: A reed relay wherein the coil and switch terminals are disposed generally in planes parallel to the axis of the relay. A bobbin is molded onto a switch consisting of glass-enclosed contacts with leads projecting therefrom. Coil terminals are molded integrally with the flanges of the bobbin. The coil leads are connected to one side of the terminals which are then bent into notches in the flanges. The switch terminals are formed alternatively by bending them into notches in the bobbin flanges to project at right angles to the axis of the bobbin or by laying a separate terminal in the bobbin and welding the terminals to it. A housing is molded around the bobbin and the respective coil and switch terminals are bent into an in-line position.

  • Patent number: 4177439
Abstract: A reed relay wherein a glass-enclosed switch is inserted into a hollow bobbin and a hinged tab is swung upwardly to provide a support shoulder for a lead projecting through the large opening of the bobbin. A housing has an internal shoulder at each end, the shoulders being engageable respectively with a preformed shoulder at one end of the bobbin and the shoulder provided by the hinged tab at the other end of the bobbin to clamp the leads between the bobbin and the housing. During assembly the hinged tab is forced upwardly by tooling which also provides a support about which the switch leads are bent through an angle of 90.degree..

  • Patent number: 4136321
Abstract: A reed relay wherein a glass-encapsulated switch having leads projecting longitudinally from each end is inserted in a longitudinal bore in a bobbin. A cover having a top wall, side walls and end walls is applied to the bobbin. One end wall is slotted to receive one of the leads of the switch. The combination of the bobbin, the cover and the slot capturing one of the leads effects the immobilization of both leads and the switch when the cover is applied. The cover is ultrasonically welded to the bobbin.

  • Patent number: 3943417
Abstract: A compression trimmer for providing a range of capacitance values for an electrical circuit includes a plurality of capacitive plates spaced by one or more dielectric members and mounted on a substantially compliant, high temperature, molded plastic insulating base. The compression trimmer includes an elongated screw received within and threadedly engaging an elongated torque control hole of the compliant base. The length and diameter of the torque control hole may be ajdusted to provide a desired torque rating of the screw. Additionally, the improved interference fit between the screw and the compliant base reduces or eliminates screw vibration to thereby maintain the capacitance value of the trimmer constant. A plurality of conductive terminals extending through the compliant base are provided for connecting the trimmer in an electrical circuit, for example, by the soldering of the conductive terminals to a printed circuit board.
