    Abstract: A remotely actuated fastener driving tool includes a housing defining a fastener drive track, a fastener driving element carried by the housing for movement within the drive track through successive cycles of operation. A drive piston is operatively connected with the fastener driving element. A pilot pressure operated main valve is movable from a normally closed position into an opened position allowing a supply of air under pressure to be communicated with the drive piston to effect the movement of the drive piston and fastener driving element. A magazine assembly is carried by the housing for receiving a supply of fasteners and feeding successive fasteners into the drive track. Valve structure is provided which includes a valve member carried by the housing and is constructed and arranged to move from a normal, inoperative position into an operative position to initiate the movement of the main valve from its closed position to its opened position.

    Abstract: A pneumatically operated fastener driving device includes a pilot pressure operated main valve movable from a normally closed position into an opened position allowing a supply of air under pressure to be communicated with a piston chamber to initiate and effect the movement of a piston and fastener driving element through a fastener drive stroke. A first passage structure communicates a pilot pressure chamber and an exhaust port. A secondary valve member is mounted with respect to the first passage structure so as to be movable between an opened position permitting communication between the pilot pressure chamber and the exhaust port and a closed position preventing such communication. A second passage structure communicates the piston chamber with the secondary valve member. An operative cycle is initiated upon exhausting pilot pressure in the pilot pressure chamber causing the main valve to move to its opened position thereby initiating the fastener drive stroke.

    Abstract: A fastener driving tool includes a portable housing defining a fastener drive track. A magazine assembly is carried by the housing for receiving a supply of fasteners and for feeding successive fasteners in a feeding direction into the drive track. A ferrous fastener driving element is mounted within the drive track for movement through repetitive cycles, each of which includes a fastener drive stroke in one direction in which a fastener within the drive track is engaged and moved outwardly of the drive track into a work piece, and a return stroke. A drive piston is operatively connected with the fastener driving element for movement therewith. An actuating mechanism is carried by the housing and is constructed and arranged to initiate movement of the fastener driving element through a fastener drive stroke.

    Abstract: A housing including a handle portion and drive portion is provided. A power operated drive in the housing drive portion is operable to be selectively moved through a drive stroke and a return stroke. A nosepiece and magazine assembly are carried by the housing including cooperating fixed and movable structure defining an elongated drive track, a feed track leading laterally into the drive track, and a coil container leading into the feed track. A fastener driving element is slidably mounted in the drive track and operatively connected with the power operated drive so as to drive a leading fastener fed into the drive track from the feed track outwardly of the drive track. The unitary movable structure is mounted for pivotal movement when a fastener package has been depleted from a closed operating position in cooperating relation with the fixed structure into an open loading position. An actuating mechanism is provided for actuating the power operated drive to move through an operating cycle.

    Abstract: A pneumatically operated driving device is constructed and arranged to operate in a single actuation sequence and an automatic actuation sequence. The device includes an improved control valve assembly for communicating reservoir pressure to move a piston in a direction to effect a drive stroke of a fastener driving element and for permitting the piston to move in a direction to effect the return stroke of the fastener driving element. The control valve assembly includes a main valve, a secondary valve, and first and second actuating members for controlling movement of the main and secondary valves, a trigger member for moving the actuating members, and trigger member adjustment structure constructed and arranged to adjust pivotal movement of the trigger member thereby providing operator selection of single actuation followed by automatic actuation of the device, or automatic actuation thereof only. The control valve assembly may be removed from the device as a unit.
