Abstract: An open-end or box wrench with a ratcheting socket wrench at the opposite end of the wrench handle. The ratcheting socket wrench may be either fixedly or pivotally attached. In one embodiment of the invention, a socket is permanently affixed to the ratchet mechanism. In another embodiment of the invention, a drive member for releasable attachment to sockets is permanently affixed to the ratchet mechanism. In either embodiment, the ratchet mechanism is preferably reversible.
Abstract: A rotary hand tool of the ratchet type and method for assembling same comprises an elongated wide mouth ratchet housing provided with a shaft rotatably mounted therein having a ratchet mechanism operatively associated therewith and a bushing coaxially mounted on the shaft, which bushing interlocks with the housing for securing the shaft and ratchet mechanism within the housing and aligning and supporting the shaft.
Abstract: A retractable knife handle employs a blade carrier mounting a blade for longitudinally moving the blade between retracted sheathed and extended unsheathed positions. A leaf spring extends from the blade carrier to engage an inwardly projecting cam surface so that when the blade carrier is shifted to the extended unsheathed position, the blade is clamped between the blade carrier and case.
Abstract: A switch activating hinge comprises two hinge leaves having aligned knuckles, a hinge pin fixed in a knuckle of the first leaf and extending into a knuckle of the second leaf for aligning the leaves for relative pivotal movement with respect to each other, and a switch in the knuckle of the second leaf adjacent the hinge pin. Means are provided on the hinge pin and the switch for operating the switch in response to relative pivotal movement of the hinge pin with respect to the knuckle of the second leaf.
