Patents Assigned to Starpoint Electrics Limited
  • Patent number: 6545576
Abstract: A switch assembly, which is particularly suitable for use in a fruit machine, is constituted by a front part (5) to be located by an outer face of a glass panel (52) and a rear part (54) to be located by a an inner face of the glass panel (52) with the front and rear parts of the switch assembly being operably connected by magnets allowing the glass panel (52) to extend continuously therebetween, thereby avoiding the need to form a hole in the glass panel (52) and with the front part (50) including two magnets (66) which are arranged with their poles facing in opposite directions perpendicularly to the length of a reed switch (56) carried by the rear part (54) and which are displaced non-linearly with respect to the reed switch (56) as the front part (50) is rocked about a pivot (62).

  • Patent number: 6422890
Abstract: An electrical assembly has first and second initially separated connection portions, of which the first is adapted to be secured to a first component, such as a microswitch, and the second is adapted to be secured to a second component, such as electrical wiring through insulation displacement, with the first and second connection portions further being capable of releasably fitting together, such as by means of a latch to bring the first and second components into electrical contact.

  • Patent number: 6368010
Abstract: A fastening assembly is constituted by a plate-like member provided with a plurality of laterally extending projections which can be pushed into position between and then turned into engagement with respective slots formed in protrusions. In one aspect, at least one of the projections and/or at least one of the slots is adapted to give a wedging effect. In another aspect, the protrusions are located around an inner periphery of otherwise circular outline presented by a hollow member, and the projections are formed as arcuate sectors located around the plate-like member which presents an outer periphery of circular outline other than at recesses for receiving the respective protrusions.

  • Patent number: 6315612
Abstract: A carrier (10) comprises a body (12) and a pair of holes (14) which extend through the body (12) away from a face (16) against which a light emitting diode may be placed towards a pair of supports (18) over which respective lead wires of the light emitting diode may be bent thereby enabling a light emitting diode to simulate a wedge based lamp in allowing direct push contact of the filament lead wires with associated electrical circuitry.

  • Patent number: 5957271
Abstract: A push-button assembly (10) is constituted by a push-button (12) having a side wall outer surface located adjacent to a side wall inner surface of a surrounding body (14). In the assembly, at least one of the side wall surfaces is recessed (22; 22a, 22c; 22b, 22d), thereby reducing the contact area of the opposed surface areas likely to be adversely affected by stickiness.

  • Patent number: 5954422
Abstract: A drive assembly is constituted by a strip (10) and three or more parallel and rotatable supports (12, 16, 22) around which the strip (10) is wrapped. At least two of the rotatable supports (22) are linked together for common movement, for example by a movable holder in the form of a light box (20) carrying a series of light bulbs (50) while at least one of the rotatable supports (12, 16) is stationary.

  • Patent number: 4662501
Abstract: The invention relates to a coin acceptor mechanism in which a coil (101) is wound on a former (102) having a central opening (104) of a shape corresponding to the outline of a coin (103) to be checked and mounted with the plane of the opening at an angle to the horizontal. The opening (104) has, towards its lower side, a cross member (106) located below the transverse center line of the coil (101) so that a coin (103b) can momentarily rest on the cross member with its plane in the plane of the coil and can then turn about the cross member under its own weight and pass edge-wise through the opening in the former.

  • Patent number: 4574935
Abstract: A coin 12 to be checked is passed through a test coil 1 connected in parallel with a capacitor 2. A comparison coil 3 having an adjustable core 5 is also connected in parallel with a capacitor 4 and a direct current is passed through both coils in parallel from a rail 13 to an interrupter 14. The simultaneous interruption of the current through both coils produces between each coil and its capacitor a respective oscillatory discharge in the form of a decaying wave train and the characteristics and dimensions of the two coils and their capacitors are such that when a coin of the selected denomination passes through the test coil, the two wave trains are substantially identical. The two wave trains are compared by a comparator device 6 and a voltage comparator 7 generates a signal when the result of the comparison is below a predetermined datum, thus indicating that the coin is a genuine one.

  • Patent number: 4410178
Abstract: A reel unit for a gaming machine comprises a stepping motor 1 connected to drive the reel through a reduction gearbox 2 having an output shaft 3 coupled to a boss 5 forming part of the reel. The shaft end 3 forms a close fit with a circular opening 12 in the boss 5 and a transverse pin 8 extending through the shaft 3 is located in a transverse slot 14 in the face of the boss 5, the slot 14 being wider than the pin 8 and its sides engaging the pin only through a pair of resilient O-rings 9 on each extending portion of the pin 8, each O-ring being located in a respective recess 15 in the sides of the slot 14.
