  • Patent number: 4899433
Abstract: The method and apparatus for pickup of packets with a varying number of stamped laminations, for instance for stators of electrical machines, from a lamination stack (98) compressed under tension between clamping plates (24, 100) is so performed that the first packet half of laminations are always rotated by 180.degree. before the entire lamination packet is measured off and picked up. Therefore, two different stops (42, 44) are needed for measuring off the first half and then the entire lamination packet for each packet height. In order to dispense with the necessity of having to exchange, when changing the packet height, the one clamping plate which heretofore was designed with various stops, the lamination packets with a differing number of laminations are always mounted between the same clamping plates (24, 100) and supported together with the one clamping plate (24) on axially adjustable stops (42, 44). Consequently, the device features axially adjustable stop (42, 44).

  • Patent number: 4852249
Abstract: A process and device for the length trimming of cables from a cable supply for the processing of cable ends. The cable front end is inserted by a cable feed (20, 22) in a guide channel whose rear section is located in a swivel part (28). As the cable front end impinges on a stop (102) on the swivel part (28), said swivel part swings beyond a dead center which is defined by a spring (40) which is attached eccentrically, whereafter the swivel part (8) is swung around by the spring (40) essentially 180.degree. so that the cable front end bearing on the stop (102) points opposite to the feed direction. The cable loop formed is then enlarged to the desired length by continued cable feeding, whereafter the cable rear end is severed by a knife (82). By lowering the cable, the cable ends are transferred, accurately positioned, to holders (56) by means of which they can be transported to the processing stations.

  • Patent number: 4692972
Abstract: A device for the lining of slots of stator or rotor lamination packs for electrical machines with slot liners. The device includes a matrix having two slots therein, a die plate including at least two forming dies, a cutting plate, structure for causing the slot liners to be aligned flush with slots in the lamination pack, and an insertion punch for simultaneously pushing slot liners out of the forming slots and through the forming structure.

  • Patent number: 4650131
Abstract: A method and a device for winding wire spools for electric machines allow rapid change of the delivery spools (28, 28a). The wire lead of a new delivery spool is affixed in a holder (48, 48a) ready for the connection. The remainder of wire length of the preceding delivery spool is measured and winding nozzle (14) of the winding device is stopped at the time point when the wire length required for completion of a spool is found between the winding nozzle and the attachment point (48, 56). Then wire (20) is cut off at the attachment point, and the wire end to the rear is connected by means of a wire connection unit (56) with the ready wire lead of the next delivery spool.

  • Patent number: 4544315
Abstract: A method of separating at least one sheet metal element from the lower end of a stack (4) of apertured sheet metal elements, the separation comprising utilizing in motion phases two tool parts (1, 2), the method comprising:(a) a first motion phase, wherein sheet metal elements become sufficiently shifted by translation and/or rotation relative to one another at a separation plane of the stack that those elements do not inter-engage at their apertures; and(b) a second motion phase, wherein below the plane, the shifted sheet metal element(s) is(are) lowered from the plane, this lowering being such that in a third motion phase, those lowered element(s) will become completely separated from the rest of the stack by being further shifted sideways; wherein in the method:(i) sheet metal elements to be separated are gravitationally lowerable; and(ii) sheet metal element(s) remaining in the stack during the second motion phase is(are) held by support provided at the bottom surface of the remaining stack.

  • Patent number: 4477966
Abstract: Apparatus and method for winding and inserting coils in slots of a stator or rotor lamination assembly, the coils being produceable on a former, said apparatus and method comprising a transfer tool for transferring said coils from said former onto an insertion tool, said transfer tool comprising annularly arranged parallel bars; and said insertion tool, comprising correspondingly annularly arranged parallel insertion blades, cover strip blades, and an axially mobile insertion ram, said insertion tool being able to introduce said coils into said slots, wherein in said apparatus, said bars are adapted to abut onto the radially internal side of said insertion blades still during at least a part of the insertion operation, and are movable together with said ram.

  • Patent number: 4457347
Abstract: A device for winding coils for electric motors is improved by simplifying the gripping element that holds and grips the wires. The device includes a winding template, a winding nozzle, a receiver for the coils, and the gripping element. In previous devices, the gripping element is moved in three dimensions, requiring a relatively complex system to control its motion. In the present invention, the gripping element is moved in two dimensions only which simplifies its construction and control, but without sacrificing any of its functions.
