Patents Assigned to Stavo Industries, Inc.
  • Publication number: 20040238598
Abstract: A wrought metal single piece filter outlet plate or inlet frame, which is weld free in the liquid contact areas and sealing surface areas. The frame is used as an inlet frame or as an outlet plate for a horizontal or vertical type filter unit. The support ears on the sides of the plate and frame are an integral part of the wrought plate or frame, welded to the plate or frame or attached to the plate or frame utilizing any number of fasteners. Advantageously, the filter elements may be mounted in a filter press assembly at an angle to increase drainage.

  • Patent number: 5938920
Abstract: A self supporting filter plate assembly having two opposed screen sections with inwardly shaped deformations which engage each other to maintain a planar surface of the screen sections at a predetermined spacing. The screen sections releasably engage each other. Inwardly directed retaining pins of an exterior frame removably support the screen sections in place within the frame. Each of the screen sections include edges which are bent at 90.degree. with respect to a central planar portion of each screen. The edge portions of the two screen sections interengage with each other by a projection in an inner surface of an edge portion of one screen section engaging with a recess extending from an outer surface of an edge portion of the other screen section. In addition, spaced openings in the edge portions, on opposed side edges of both screen sections, interengage with the inwardly directed retaining pins extending from an inner surface of opposed sides of the frame.

  • Patent number: 5443720
Abstract: A sanitary cartridge filter housing is formed by a bottom plate having a raised platform thereon from which a splash plate extends radially. A housing cylinder is mounted on the bottom plate and clamped thereto, with an O-ring therebetween, by a surrounding clamp. At an opposite end of the housing cylinder is located a top plate which is either held in place by a clamp or by the pressure exerted on the top plate by a tightening nut threadingly engaging a winged center post with the threads of the winged center post engaging the tightening nut externally of the formed housing. The winged center post is solid (non-perforated) and extends through the center of the housing cylinder, through the platform supporting the splash plate, and is secured at its lowermost end at the bottom of an outlet port tee located externally of the formed housing.

  • Patent number: 5366627
Abstract: A thorough wash operation of a process fluid is conducted within the confines of an enclosed housing. The housing includes four ports at one side of the housing for transmission of process fluids through a plurality of press frames so as to (1) separate solids from a principal liquid to recover a valuable commodity in the solid cakes formed from the principal liquid, or (2) remove contaminants from the principal liquid so as to recover a cleansed principal liquid, or (3) introduce a valuable commodity into a wash liquid from filter cakes formed from the principal liquid, which valuable commodity may subsequently be removed from the wash liquid. A drip pan hopper is removably secured to a bottom of the housing.

  • Patent number: 5316678
Abstract: An improved filter cell is formed by sealing at least two layers of filter media with an interposed drainage support member between two identical edge seal rings. A flexible radial edge is produced that will not crack during its lifetime, including during manufacture, shipping and use. The edge seal rings and the drainage or support member are preferably formed of food grade polypropylene. The molten polypropylene formed by the friction welding of the two edge seal rings with respect to each other fills two cavities formed between the two edge seal rings to firmly secure two filter media disc covers around the entire periphery of the edge seal rings. Each edge seal ring is formed of an annular member having an annular ridge with a pointed terminal portion for engaging the opposed filter media disc cover to aid in retention of the filter media disc covers and drainage member between the edge seal rings.

  • Patent number: 4392956
Abstract: An upwardly opening tank including interconnected opposite side and end walls and a first stationary filter head therein is provided. A second head is mounted in the tank and is shiftable toward and away from the stationary head for clamping a plurality of filter frames between the heads. The stationary head includes inlet and outlet passages for inlet and outlet flow of fluid to be filtered and a downwardly opening cover is provided for the tank including interconnected opposite side and end walls. A lift frame swingably supports the cover from the tank for forward and downward swinging of the cover into closed position and upward and rearward swinging of the cover toward an open position with the cover disposed in a forwardly and downwardly opening attitude.

  • Patent number: 4363491
Abstract: A stainless steel sleeve is loosely disposed on a shaft portion projecting outwardly from a stuffing box bore and at least one end of the sleeve projects into the stuffing box bore and includes a seal member for establishing a sliding fluid-tight seal between the stuffing box bore and the sleeve. The sleeve is supported from the stuffing box for axial shifting relative thereto, but is keyed to the stuffing box against rotation relative thereto. A second sleeve component constructed of carbon/graphite is mounted on the shaft portion outwardly of the stainless steel sleeve and includes seal structure forming a fluid-tight seal between the shaft portion and the second sleeve. The opposing axial ends of the stainless steel and second sleeve include end faces disposed in planes normal to the center axis of the shaft portion and in sliding engagement with each other.
