Abstract: A method for producing a single-filament stent from a filament having a first end and a second free end, wherein starting from the first end, a filament is wound onto a braiding core with a longitudinal axis in a spiral manner in the form of windings between a first deflection means in a proximal end region and a second deflection means in a distal end region, the filament is placed in a crossed-over position at a crossing point and introduced into a crossed-under position at another crossing point. The method also includes placing a winding onto the braiding core until reaching a crossing point, introducing and pushing the second free end of the filament in an insertion direction through a guide opening in the braiding core, arranged substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, and receiving and pulling the filament through the guide opening.
