  • Patent number: 6578321
Abstract: A method of permanently mounting an electrical box block in a concrete block wall. The electrical box block preferably includes three generally rectangular metal members, four vertical spacer members and two horizontal metal members. The first rectangular metal member and the second rectangular metal member preferably have equal dimensions. A first pair of vertical spacer members is secured between the first and second rectangular metal plate member in a manner to create at least one reinforcing bar and cement receiving cavity between the first and second metal members. The two of the vertical spacer members and the two horizontal metal members are attached to the third rectangular metal member to form an electrical housing or box.

Abstract: A modular lintel block includes a rectangular base member, a first rectangular side member, a second rectangular side member and a plurality of spacer members. The base member has a first longitudinal side and a second longitudinal side. The first side member is coupled to the first longitudinal side of the base member. The second side member is spaced from the first side member and is coupled to the second longitudinal side of the base member. The plurality of spacer members are coupled between the first and second side members. A method of forming a lintel in a block wall is provided that includes the steps of constructing the block wall with an opening using a plurality of construction blocks coupled together by a cementing slurry. A modular lintel block is installed and secured into the block wall above the opening with the cementing slurry.

  • Patent number: 6574932
Abstract: An embeddable air duct block includes a tubular member extending between a pair of rectangular plate members spaced from each other. The tubular member has a pair of open ends and an interior passageway. One plate member has an inner surface coupled to one open end and a plurality of holes in fluid communication with the interior passageway. The other plate member is coupled to the tubular member and has a duct opening aligned with the interior passageway. Two cement cavities are preferably formed on opposite sides of the tubular member. An air duct is formed in a concrete block wall by installing and securing the air duct block in the concrete block wall. The blocks are coupled together by cementing slurry poured into the cavities. Optionally, reinforcing bars can also be utilized within the cement cavities and at least one cavity of the concrete block wall.

  • Patent number: 6271468
Abstract: An embeddable mounting device for permanently affixing a wall accessory to a concrete block wall. The embeddable mounting device is in the form of an embeddable block with an attachable faceplate. The embeddable mounting device preferably includes a metal block portion and a metal mounting portion. The metal block portion is designed to permanently affix the mounting device within the concrete wall. The metal mounting portion is designed to receive one of many different types of faceplates. In the illustrated embodiments, the metal block portion has two generally rectangular metal members, and two or three vertical spacer members. The vertical spacer members of the metal block portion are secured between the first and second rectangular metal plate member in a manner to create at least one reinforcing bar and cement receiving cavity between the first and second metal members.
