  • Patent number: 11975777
Abstract: A method for providing over learn protection for torque steer mitigation includes receiving a compensation torque value corresponding to a torque offset associated with a transmission torque and receiving a handwheel torque value associated with a handwheel of a steering system. The method also includes detecting a mathematical sign of the compensation torque value, detecting a mathematical sign of the handwheel torque value, and determining whether the mathematical sign of the compensation torque value is the same as the mathematical sign of the handwheel torque value. The method also includes, in response to a determination that the mathematical sign of the compensation torque value is not the same as the mathematical sign of the handwheel torque value, adjusting one or more learned gains, and generating an inverted compensation torque value by inverting the mathematical sign of the compensation torque value.

  • Publication number: 20240084880
Abstract: Embodiments of a system, method and apparatus for a gear are disclosed. For example, a metallic gear hub can include an axis of rotation and metallic gear teeth. The metallic gear teeth can be smaller than a final gear teeth size of the gear. The metallic gear teeth can be co-planar with the axis. In addition, the metallic gear teeth can be non-orthogonal to the axis. A polymer layer can be located on the metallic gear teeth to form polymer gear teeth on the metallic gear teeth. • Patent number: 11891107
Abstract: A flex coupling assembly for coupling a first shaft to a second shaft of a shaft assembly. The flex coupling assembly decouples axial and torsional stiffness from bending stiffness of the shaft assembly, thereby dampening the transmission of noise and vibration between the first and second shafts. The flex coupling assembly includes an inner housing subassembly and an outer housing subassembly. The inner housing subassembly includes an inner housing and a resilient flex coupling disposed in an outer housing cavity of an outer housing of the outer housing subassembly. A retention member is fixed to an outer housing to retain the inner housing subassembly in the outer housing cavity. The inner and outer housing subassemblies can rotate and translate relative to a common axis, while the inner and the outer housings restrict bending between the inner and outer housing subassemblies, thereby restricting bending between the first and second shafts.
