Patents Assigned to Steiner American Corporation
  • Patent number: 4149573
Abstract: A liquid soap dispensing system includes a closed soap container having a manually actuated dispensing pump carried therebeneath and being mounted on a bracket which has support fingers engageable with a lip on the container bottom for supporting it and a flexible retaining finger engageable with a groove in the top of the container for releasably holding it immovably against the bracket. A bottom wall extends from the bracket beneath the container and cooperates therewith to enclose the dispensing pump and is provided with an aperture to accommodate dispensing of soap therethrough. Refill of the container is by a plastic refill squeeze-bottle with a neck closed by a membrane. The neck is inserted in a wall in the top of the container, and a piercing member at the bottom of the well ruptures the membrane, whereupon soap may be squeezed from the bottle and through apertures in the well bottom, which apertures are too small to permit ready flow of soap therethrough by gravity at ambient pressure.

  • Patent number: 4131044
Abstract: A cut-off mechanism is provided in a dispenser for dispensing a web of paper towel from a supply roll thereof, the cut-off mechanism including a flat cam member fixedly secured to the dispenser feed roller for rotation therewith and a drive member having a generally cylindrical portion cooperating with the cam member to form a chamber for a spiral coiled spring secured between the drive member and the dispenser feed roller so that rotation of the latter with respect to the former during dispensing of the web winds the spring. The drive member is connected by linkage to a movable cutting blade and is also provided with a stop surface which is engageable with a latch member normally to hold the movable blade motionless during winding of the spring.

  • Patent number: 4059422
Abstract: A dispenser for odor control agents comprising a generally cylindrical housing having air openings therein adjacent to each end thereof and including a base, a fan mounted on the base for drawing air through the openings adjacent to one end of the housing to establish an air stream through the housing, a cartridge removably mounted on the base and including a compartment for receiving an odor control agent, a duct for directing the air stream through the compartment past the odor control agent and out through the openings adjacent to the other end of the housing, a cover shiftably mounted on the base and movable between a closed position and an open position wherein the fan and the cartridge are accessible for removal and servicing, and an air controller in the path of the air stream including two apertured members shiftable so as to align the apertures to provide maximum flow of air or to place the apertures in substantial non-alignment to block the flow of air.
