Abstract: Binoculars, a telescope, or the like, having a removable strap, wherein
a coupling is disposed on the casing of the binoculars, and a coupling pin, which cooperates with the coupling, is disposed at the end of the strap,
wherein the coupling pin incorporates an inherently elastic locking tab that projects hook-like from the plane of the coupling pin surface,
wherein the coupling has a longitudinal recess to receive the locking tab under elastic deformation of the same,
wherein, when the locking tab is inserted into the longitudinal recess, the locking tab locks behind a coupling projection, and
wherein the longitudinal recess is open toward the outside and a swivel-mounted release key is disposed there in such a way that, by pushing the release key from outside in, the locking tab is pushed inward and moved out of engagement with the coupling projection.
Abstract: An imaging optical device, in particular binoculars or a telescope, comprises, in addition to a casing, an optical system with at least two optical components, the distance of which relative to one another is adjustable for focus setting of the optical system. This adjustment is effected by an adjusting device, which is coupled with at least one of the two components. The position of the optical components relative to each other is detected and, by the aid of a processor, converted into a focal length of the optical system and then outputted as a focal length via an output device. In this way, the distance of an object sighted by the optical device can be determined conveniently.
Abstract: A pair of binoculars, a telescope or the like, comprising a protective lens cap articulated to the front of the lens, is characterized in that a pivot joint arrangement is formed between an edge of the lens and the protective lens cap, in use having a substantially horizontal pivot axis and a substantially vertical pivot axis.
Abstract: An image-forming device, especially an optical magnifying device, e.g., binoculars or a telescope, has an image influencing optical component, more specifically an eyepiece. The same is held by means of a holding device in such a way that the optical component is axially displaceable along the optical axis of the image-forming device. The holding device comprises a component holding element that is attached to and cannot move relative to the optical component, said component holding element having an adjustment marking, e.g., a dial with a plurality of individual markings reflecting the current axial position of the optical component. The holding device additionally has a marking member to accentuate at least one individual marking on the adjustment marking. With the aid of the marking member the axial position of the optical component can be marked prior to an axial readjustment of the same so that the axial readjustment can easily be reversed.
Abstract: In binoculars comprising an objective lens, a prism arrangement and an eyepiece, it is provided that a mirror can be inserted in the optical path between the prism arrangement and the eyepiece, deviating the optical path to an image sensor of a digital camera arrangement.

Abstract: Binoculars having a prism assembly between the objective and ocular, wherein the prism assembly is secured on a prism holding device by means of a permanently elastic sealing compound.
Abstract: In a connector for the removable connection of an end of a neck strap to a pair of binoculars or similar optical device, to provide for a simple connection and disconnection with a reliable hold, the end of the strap has an attached clip incorporating two legs that can be elastically opened in a V-shape and that have inward facing holding projections on their insides, wherein a holding part with a lug is provided on the binoculars, said lug incorporating snap-in projections that extend laterally toward the outside in a manner so that the legs can be snapped onto the lug in such a way that their holding projections encompass the snap-in projections of the lug, and wherein a retention sleeve is provided, the free interior cross-section of which is dimensioned such that it can be slipped over the legs when they are in their snapped-on position, thus preventing the legs from opening.
Abstract: In an eyepiece cup for binoculars, which fits substantially tightly in particular around a user's eyes, provision is made for air admission holes.
