  • Publication number: 20230371494
Abstract: An adhesive trap for entrapping pests such as insects such as flying or crawling insects, or other small creatures includes a corrugated panel defining a plurality of channels connected by convex peaks. For example, the corrugated panel, or a plurality of corrugated panels, may be configured and/or assembled to define a pillar or the like. An insect adhesive, such as pressure-sensitive adhesive, is adhered only in the plurality of channels, such that the convex peaks of the corrugated panel are free of adhesive. The adhesive trap is effective at capturing target insects, and the adhesive-free outer portions facilitate handling of the traps without contacting the adhesive and reduces the risk and likelihood of inadvertently ensnaring or adhesively engaging larger, non-target creatures.

  • Patent number: 11297818
Abstract: An insect bait station, for example an ant bait station, for deploying a toxicant includes a housing with a body portion covered by a cover. The body portion includes first and second reservoirs. Entryways having a converging outer portion and an upright tubular portion provide insect access into the housing. The upright tubular portion extends from the converging outer portion, through a bait in the second reservoir. An entry port is provided in the tubular portion above the bait. A first bait is disposed in the first reservoir and a second bait is disposed in the second reservoir. For example, the first bait may include a protein-based food and a pesticide, and the second bait may include a sugar- or lipid-based food with or without a pesticide.

  • Patent number: 10980224
Abstract: An insect trap with bird guards prevents or deters small animals from becoming stuck to the trap, and includes a pillar mounted between a base member and a cap member. The pillar is located radially inwardly from the outer perimeter of the base and cap members, and has an outer surface having a coating of an adhesive selected for ensnaring target insects. A number of bird guards have end portions attachable to the base member and the cap member, and include a plurality of elongate members extending between the end portions, and are spaced away from the pillar. A spacing member, for example, a crossbeam, connects the elongate members for each guard, and is positioned radially inwardly from the elongate members, and at an intermediate longitudinal position, such that the elongate members will not engage the adhesive surface. The base and cap may further include spike members that extend away from the pillar.

  • Patent number: 10264777
Abstract: An ant bait station is formed as a stick pack having multiple compartments, wherein each of the compartments contain a bait for a target ant species, and includes a plurality of apertures to the respective compartments. Some or all of the baits may contain a pesticide, for example a borate. In at least one of the compartments containing a pesticide, the apertures are large enough to permit the target ants to enter and exit. In some embodiment a compartment contains a bait without a pesticide. This may improve performance if the non-pesticidal bait attracts ants to the trap, and the lack of pesticidal component extends the life of the attractant. The compartment containing the bait without a pesticide may have apertures that are too small to permit the ants from entering and exiting.

  • Patent number: 10182565
Abstract: A fixture (100) for gradually releasing a spatially effective semiochemical, for example a repellant. The fixture includes a slotted tube (140), that may be formed for example, from a porous material, a peripheral tube (102) having a plurality of apertures and disposed outward from the slotted tube, a base (110) that engages the slotted tube and the outer tube, a funnel member (160) that engages a top end of the slotted tube and the peripheral tube, and a cap (130). In an embodiment the base includes a lighting element (150).
