Patents Assigned to Sterling Plumbing Group, Inc.
  • Patent number: 5908064
Abstract: A pivotal and extendable bathing door unit is disclosed wherein a first panel is pivotally connected to a supporting wall, and a second panel is extendably connected to the first panel, so that the door can operate to enclose without an overhead track. There are roller brackets with tandem rollers connected to the first panel for riding in tracks in the second panel. The brackets afford ease of adjustment of the rollers and the tandem rollers afford a stable sliding and extension of the second panel. A minimum number of parts are required in a pivotal and extendable bathing door unit.

  • Patent number: 5839228
Abstract: A screen is provided having overlapping leaves, an upper rail on which the leaves are hung, and a lower rail for guiding the lower ends of the leaves during their sliding movement. A runner element whereby the lower end of an outer one of the leaves is guided with respect to the lower rail, is pivotally displaceable between a first condition in which it engages with the lower rail and a second condition in which it is disengaged from the lower rail, permitting the leaf to swing away from the other leaf. This facilitates cleaning of the leaves in the region where they overlap.

  • Patent number: 5806552
Abstract: A cartridge-type valve is disclosed which is capable of having the flow of hot and cold water to the valve reversed for use in back to back installations. An adapter gasket is provided which has three independent pathways. In one position, the adapter effects respective fluid communication between hot and cold water inlet pipes and hot and cold water inlets in the stationary valve portion. In a second position, when the adapter gasket is removed from the valve body and turned over, communication between the hot and cold water inlet pipes and the hot and cold water inlets in the stationary valve portion is reversed. In both positions, the adapter gasket also effects communication between the outlet of the valve and the outlet of a valve housing, and further it seals all connections at all times.

  • Patent number: 5732734
Abstract: A cartridge type valve is provided. In one embodiment, the valve has an off center inlet yet still permits a rotatable engagement between a bonnet and the side walls of the lower portion of the valve cartridge. In another embodiment, post members afford a stop surface for a rotatable stem, a vertical stop for a bonnet member, as well as orientation for a stationary valve element. A right and left-hand conversion is also provided by cross-shaped projections on the end of the stem and slots in a movable valve element.

  • Patent number: 5634219
Abstract: A lightweight, low cost shower door assembly for enclosing a tub or shower enclosure having sides and a base. It includes an upper support member adapted to be positioned against opposing sides of the enclosure and a lower support member adapted to be positioned against the base of the enclosure. A door in the assembly includes a flexible rod connecting first and second frame members. The first frame member is connected to the upper and lower support members and positioned for movement about a vertical axis. The flexible rod is bowed to apply an upward force on the second frame member in order to maintain it in releasable connection with the upper support member. In use, a section of replaceable fabric or vinyl extends across the frame members in order to provide a water barrier for the door.

  • Patent number: 5575022
Abstract: A shower cubicle enclosure is disclosed. It has a fixed panel and a slidable panel for opening and closing an access opening, and a rail which defines a cylindrically curved track. The slidable panel has runner elements which cooperate with the track so as to guide the slidable panel for displacement between an open position in which the slidable panel is adjacent and spaced traversely from the fixed panel, and a closed position in which the panel closes the access opening. The fixed and slidable panels are both cylindrically curved. A parking element draws the trailing end of the slidable panel traversely towards the fixed panel as the slidable panel approaches the closed position, thus forming a water tight seal between the slidable and fixed panels.

  • Patent number: 5465749
Abstract: A top mounted valve assembly having a block member with a hinged arm which is fitted through from the top of a supporting surface and actuated by a threaded actuating member. As the actuating member is turned in one direction, the hinged arm engages the underside of the supporting surface. To disengage the faucet, the actuating member is turned in the opposite direction which permits removal. Both single and dual handle faucets can be top mounted by the mounting assembly disclosed herein. An aesthetically appearing faucet results wherein the actuating mechanism is hidden.

  • Patent number: 5417272
Abstract: A pivotal and extendable bathing door unit is disclosed wherein a first panel is pivotally connected to a supporting wall, and a second panel is extendably connected to the first panel, so that the door can operate to enclose without an overhead track. There are roller tracks and rollers cross-linked to each other while permitting lateral relative movement therebetween. In one form, cam members are associated with the pivotal connection of the first panel to provide a lifting action between bistable positions, and a magnetic member is connected to a handle on the second panel for attraction to a similar second panel of a second similar door unit.
