  • Patent number: 9957914
Abstract: An engine block of a diesel engine cast integrally with the cylinder head, with a number of cylinders in line, including an outer wall (21) and a cylinder wall (13) for each cylinder with a first cooling space (22) for a liquid cooling medium and with a second cooling space (25) on top of a cylinder ceiling (14) with openings (15,16) for gas exchange valves, the first cooling space (22) enclosing all the cylinder walls (13) entirely. In order to strengthen and cooling the vulnerable zone at the transition from cylinder wall (13) to cylinder ceiling (14) the first cooling space of adjacent cylinders forms a gap (23) with a width (35) constant or increasing from top to bottom.

Abstract: Described is a crankcase and a method for assembling a multi-part crankcase. The method can include providing a cylinder block and a bearing tunnel upper part. The cylinder block has a plurality of threaded holes into each of which a stud screw is screwed, where the stud screws protrude from the cylinder block. The bearing tunnel upper part has a plurality of through-holes, where each of the through-holes is arranged coaxially to a corresponding stud screw. On a side facing the cylinder head, each of the through-holes has an internal thread having a first direction of rotation. A plurality of threaded sleeves, each threaded sleeve has an internal thread that has a second direction of rotation, an external thread that has a first direction of rotation, and a driver profile for inserting a screwdriver tool in a positive-locking manner, are provided.

  • Patent number: 9586665
Abstract: A method for controlling the hybrid drive system of a water craft, comprising a combustion engine (1), an electric engine/generator (2), a drive train (5) having a propeller (7) and a storage battery (3), a control unit (8) and a clutch (4). In order to increase efficiency, during travel in the upper power range the electric engine (2) is additionally operated as a generator, and during travel in the middle and lower power ranges the electric engine (2) is operated with current from a storage battery (3). The drive train is designed so that the characteristic (20) thereof lies by a defined charging capacity below the point of minimum specific fuel consumption (e.g. 25), or is steeper than the characteristic (16) of a conventional construction.

  • Patent number: 8746200
Abstract: The invention relates to a reciprocating-piston internal combustion engine (1) having at least one engine cylinder (2, 3) and at least one piston oscillating therein, and having at least one balancing mass (14) which is driven in an oscillating manner by a crankshaft (11) via a crank throw (15) and a compensating connecting rod (16), and which is guided in a translatory fashion by means of a linear guide (17) assigned in each case to the respective balancing mass (14). The linear guide (17) is formed by at least two guide elements (18, 19), which are spaced apart from one another, for the balancing mass (14). A bearing (23) for articulatedly connecting to the compensating connecting rod (16) is formed on the balancing mass (14) in a central portion between the two mutually spaced apart guide elements (18, 19).
