Abstract: A method for optimizing at least one property of a satellite system. The system has a satellite provided with a transmitter for transmitting a satellite signal that represents data. The satellite further has a satellite receiver for receiving the satellite signal. The method involves receiving the satellite signal, via the satellite receiver; determining the data from the satellite signal so received; checking the data for data errors; and changing the at least one property of the satellite system if a result of the checking satisfies a predetermined criterion.
Abstract: A portal article detection means (10, 20) having a plurality of radiator elements (1, 2, 3, L1, L2, L3) for generating a magnetic field (B), wherein the magnetic radiator further comprises an electronic component (?L12, ?L23, ?L13) arranged in electrical connection between said radiator elements for substantially decoupling the radiator elements (L1, L2, L3).

Abstract: An antenna device has a sheet-shaped support which is folded along various fold-lines. The support includes a first support plane adjacent to one of the fold-lines and a second support place adjacent to the same fold-line. The first and second support places have first and second antenna structures, respectively, each arranged for receiving or emitting electro-magnetic radiation. The second support plane is positioned at an angle with respect to the first support plane. The second antenna structure is sensitive to electro-magnetic radiation which differs in, e.g., polarization from that of electro-magnetic radiation to which the first antenna structure is sensitive.

Abstract: A method for calibrating parameters of sensor elements in a sensor array. The method comprises receiving an output signal of at least two sensor elements signal in reaction to an input signal from a signal source; estimating a cross-correlation between the output signals of at least two of said sensor elements; and optimising a difference between the estimated cross-correlation and a cross-correlation model; and thereby estimating said parameters from the optimised difference. A cross-corelation model is used as represented by the mathematical equation: R=G B GH+D.

Abstract: An antenna system of the phased array type, with a carrier of electrically insulating material and at least two antenna units, which each comprise a receiving device for electromagnetic radiation and of which the receiving device is connected with a time- or phase-shifting circuit. The receiving devices of the antenna units are connected with each other via the time- or phase-shifting circuit through a combining circuit. The antenna units comprise a recess in the surface of the carrier, having on a recess-defining recess surface of the carrier at least partly a layer of electrically conductive material and having at least one focus; wherein the at least one receiving device is located in or near the focus.
