  • Publication number: 20170261228
Abstract: The invention is directed to a heating block (100) for a continuous flow heater in which a water flow system with channels is arranged in the heating block (100). A heating path (300) of the water flow system forms a hottest channel (340) with a hottest heating element (341) during operation of the continuous flow heater. The hottest channel (340) is arranged downstream of at least one channel (310, 320, 330) of the heating path (300) in a flow direction (110). The hottest channel (340) of the heating path (300) is surrounded by at least four channels which are located between an outer surface (120) of the heating block (100) and the hottest channel (340). Accordingly, the hottest channel (340) of the continuous flow heater is surrounded by at least four channels and is shielded relative to an air space (160).

  • Patent number: 5924859
Abstract: A process for controlling a gas blower burner in which an ionization electrode sends an electrical variable derived from the combustion temperature or the lambda value to a control circuit, which compares this variable with a selected electrical set point and adjusts the gas-to-air ratio (lambda value) to a corresponding lambda set point. To compensate the effect of a condition-dependent change in the proportionality between the lambda value and the electrical measured variable derived from it on the control in such a way that the desired lambda set point will be maintained, a calibration cycle is run from time to time. The lambda value is reduced from a value of >1 during this cycle. The maximum obtained at lambda=1 is stored. The electrical set point is adjusted with this maximum.

  • Patent number: 5899683
Abstract: In a process for operating a gas blower burner, a control circuit detects an ionization signal Ui derived from an ionization electrode, and it adjusts the gas-to-air ratio to a lambda set point >1, to which a set point Uis of the ionization signal corresponds. To guarantee low-emission combustion in different operating states, a range of control of the ionization signal Ui is set, whose upper limit value Uio is smaller than the maximum of the ionization signal Ui, and whose lower limit value Uiu is above the value that guarantees low-emission operation. A switch-off signal is generated for the burner if the ionization signal Ui leaves the permissible range of control RB for longer than a preset period of time.

  • Patent number: 5811670
Abstract: The quality of a fuel-air mixture shall be evaluated by a process and a device during a phase of combustion, especially in a spark ignition engine, in order to make possible a low-emission, fuel-saving and knock-free operation. An electrical testing pulse P is sent for this purpose to the spark plug during the phase of combustion V following the ignition pulse Z. The effect of the actual fuel-air mixture of the combustion chamber on the testing pulse is detected and evaluated as an electrical variable.

  • Patent number: 4314668
Abstract: A method of heating with an absorption heat pump in which absorber pressure is produced independently of evaporation pressure by a compressor, and/or the lean mixture returning to the absorber is cooled in a main heat exchanger to temperatures lower than is possible in the heat exchanger located between the absorber and the desorber, and the desorber is operated adiabatically. A jet apparatus may be used as a compressor unit. The cooling agent cycle may be shut off in case of inadequate evaporator pressure dependent on the outside temperature, and the mixture cycle may be used as a heat carrier. The heat exchanger may be bypassed during heat carrier operation and the heat may be delivered exclusively via the main heat exchanger. If the desorber operates on oil, gas or solid fuel, fuel gases may be cooled in a unit behind the desorber by a medium to be heated. The flue gas is used for evaporating liquid cooling agent and the vaporous cooling agent is used for driving the compressor.

  • Patent number: 4181316
Abstract: A skate board with two wheel mounts located on one board, in which each of the wheel mounts holds an axle carrier with a roller axis for two rollers in an elastic manner. Steering movements of the roller axes are initiated by shifting the weight of the rider. At least one of the two roller axes is pivotal about a transverse axis running transverse to the longitudinal axis of the board, so that the board can be lowered relative to the roller axis by applying weight. The board can be raised relative to the roller axis, on the other hand, by a spring force upon removal of the weight. The transverse axis is rigidly connected to the board so that lowering and raising the board will not initiate steering movements of the roller axis. The board, furthermore, has a brake which acts on the rollers if the board is raised and carries no load. The brake is released by applying weight and lowering the board.
