Abstract: A light emitting diode (LED) pixel array and method of fabrication thereof. A semiconductor wafer template includes a successively stacked lower n-GaN layer, lower MQW layer, lower p-GaN layer, upper n-GaN layer, and dielectric layer. A plurality of apertures is formed through the dielectric layer, extending to the upper n-GaN layer. A plurality of mesas is formed by forming, within each aperture, a mesa n-GaN layer, a mesa MQW layer above each mesa n-GaN layer, and a mesa p-GaN layer above each mesa MQW layer. The mesa n-GaN layer, mesa MQW layer, and mesa p-GaN layer of each mesa form a respective mesa LED. The lower n-GaN layer, lower MQW layer, and lower p-GaN layer form a lower LED.

Abstract: Post induction hypotension (PIH) may be associated with an increase of morbidity and mortality. As PIH is caused by different (pharmacological) mechanisms compared to intra operative hypotension (IOH), using any of the various definitions for IOH is inadequate. Accordingly, the present application describes a more comprehensive method to assess clinically relevant PIH (defined as “crasher”) based on visual blood pressure patterns and an automated classification model able to classify these types of patients.

The contact member is rotated within the anatomical cavity through a first range of angular motion and engages tissue of the anatomical cavity during such rotation, such that rotation of the contact member within the anatomical cavity through the first range of angular motion causes torsional deformation of the anatomical cavity. The contact member is moved longitudinally through a first range of longitudinal motion after rotating the contact member within the anatomical cavity through the first range of angular motion, thereby causing longitudinal deformation of the anatomical cavity. A position of the contact member is secured relative to the tissue, thereby maintaining the torsional and longitudinal deformation of the tissue.

Abstract: An embodiment relates to an astigmatism axis adjustable artificial lens which is adjustable so that a correction axis of the artificial lens matches an astigmatism axis when the astigmatism axis and the correction axis of the artificial lens do not match. Here, the astigmatism axis adjustable artificial lens includes a support part and an optical lens part. The support part is fixed to a lens capsule of a patient's eye. The optical lens part is coupled to the support part and has a correction axis that matches the patient's astigmatism axis. The optical lens part is rotatably coupled to the support part to be adjustable so that the correction axis matches the patient's astigmatism axis.

Abstract: Among the various aspects of the present disclosure is the provision of compositions and methods for treating cancer and sensitizing cancer or tumors to treatments. An aspect of the present disclosure provides for a method of preventing treatment resistance in non-HPV-associated cancer comprising administering a pharmaceutical composition comprising HPV-associated DNA (e.g., HPV-associated exosomes). Another aspect of the present disclosure provides for a method of increasing response to cancer treatment, optionally, surgery, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy in a subject having, suspected of having, being treated for, having previously been treated for, or diagnosed with cancer comprising administering a pharmaceutical composition comprising HPV-associated DNA (e.g., HPV-associated exosomes).

Abstract: A method of treating a connective tissue disorder in a patient. The method comprises orally administering colchicine in a therapeutically effective dose amount. This treatment could suppress the pathologic inflammation, fibrosis, or angiogenesis associated with such connective tissue disorders. As an example, the connective tissue disorder could be tendinopathy (such as carpal tunnel syndrome). The treatment may have various beneficial effects at the target connective tissue, such as reduced fibrosis, increased collagen turnover, increased extracellular matrix turnover, reduced inflammation, reduced angiogenesis, etc.

Abstract: A flush syringe including a barrel, and a plunger. A tip of the barrel has a substantially flat surface that expands radially outward that then extends into an annular wall. The annular wall expands radially down and outward from the rounded edge to a tip base. The barrel defines a liquid reservoir and is configured to receive a plunger. The plunger is inserted into the barrel to forcibly dispense a fluid stored within the fluid reservoir through an outlet and into a mating device such as a nipple shield.

Abstract: Described herein are methods for pre-clinical drug evaluation including using an individualized genome assembly for a test subject; and induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) derived from the test subject. Further, methods for preclinical testing of human therapies include: obtaining tissue or blood from at least one individual of a population comprising a single species of nonhuman primate; isolating PBMCs from the at least one individual deriving iPSCs from the PBMCs from the at least one individual; performing one or more of: in vitro, in vivo, or genetic testing on the at least one individual. Compositions for deriving iPSCs from nonhuman primates are also described herein.

The host includes a storage host interface configured to communicate with the storage device comprising a cache and a non-volatile memory and at least one processor. The at least one processor may be configured to receive information indicating cache loss from the storage device after device reset of the storage device, suspend a data input/output operation for the storage device, transmit a buffer read command to the storage device, and receive cache information related to data remaining in the cache without being stored in the non-volatile memory before the device reset from the storage device in response to the buffer read command.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for creating a query visualization. A system receives an input of a query, with semantic classes, attribute and links for the semantic classes, wherein the semantic model data structure maps the at least one attribute a source data structure. The system generates for display a visual representation of the query. The system accesses the at least one source data structure mapped to the at least one attribute to compute at least one statistic score based on calculating a number of records in the at least one source data structure comprising a value for the at least one attribute. The system then modifies the visual representation of the query based on identifying a problematic attribute in the query based on the at least one statistic score.

Abstract: A method and system are arranged for fact checking electronically posted claims. The system includes an input/output device for inputting a textual complex claim as a natural language statement with a combination of two or more facts and outputting an indication that the textual complex claim is true or false. A processor connected to the input/output device generates, by a program generation module, a reasoning program for the input complex claim as a sequence of reasoning steps, where each step directs to a function in a set of sub-task functions. The processor generates, by a program execution module, each step in the reasoning program to a respective sub-task function and executes the respective sub-task function in order to provide the outputted indication.

Abstract: A neuro-symbolic retrieval augmented generation hybrid method includes detecting an incomplete entigen group within a knowledge database. The incomplete entigen group includes entigens and one or more entigen relationships between at least some of the entigens. The incomplete entigen group represents knowledge of a topic. The method further includes obtaining additive content for the topic based on the incomplete entigen group and generating an additive entigen group based on the additive content. The method further includes updating the incomplete entigen group utilizing the additive entigen group to produce an updated entigen group. The method further includes indicating that the updated entigen group has an un-curated status when the additive entigen group conflicts with the incomplete entigen group.

Abstract: An optical decoding device, comprising: an image sensor, configured to sense first sensing images and second sensing images; a processing circuit, configured to determine a relative movement between the optical decoding device and an object according to the first sensing images; and a decoding device, configured to decode the second sensing images in a first mode to generate a decoding result and does not decode the second sensing images in a second mode. The decoding device switches between the first mode and the second mode according to the relative movement, thus can save power. A barcode, a color code which can be provided on a curved surface and an invisible code are also disclosed. An electrical cigarette lighter using the optical decoding device to provide heat is also disclosed.

Abstract: There are provided systems and methods for an acknowledgement process for message transmissions to connectable processing terminals for point-of-sale (POS) devices. A user may engage in a transaction with a merchant at a POS device, such as a purchase of items from a merchant at a physical merchant location and using payment terminals with the POS device. An online transaction processor may provide an acknowledgement process to determine if the payment terminal is online and receiving communications so that the user may view transaction details and complete transaction processing. This may be done through lookup of a previous connection of the payment terminal over a cloud computing system with the transaction processor and transmission of a request for acknowledgement over that connection. If the payment terminal responds with an acknowledgement, the transaction processor may then notify the POS device that data processing may proceed.
