    Abstract: An adaptor for connecting a chip card to a PCMCIA-standard computer slot has a housing with a top cover, a separate bottom cover, and at least one intermediate insulative element or frame connecting the top cover to the bottom cover at a spacing to one another. The top cover and bottom cover have substantially congruent outer contours. The housing has a receiving channel. A printed circuit board is mounted in the housing and extends parallel to the receiving channel. The circuit board has contact elements for electrically contacting a chip card received in the receiving channel. The housing has a front face and a back face wherein the front face has an insertion slot communicating with the receiving channel. The back face has a contact plug electrically connected to the printed circuit board and adapted to electrically contact the PCMCIA-standard computer slot. Cams at the channel entrance are used for card retention.

    Abstract: A method for manufacturing elastic strips, pin holders, and plug-in connectors includes the step of extruding a continuous profiled plastic member having a profile matching the desired geometry of a plug-in connector and storing the continuous profiled plastic member. The continuous profiled plastic member is then provided with cutouts in areas where cutouts cannot be produced by extrusion. Subsequently, electrical contacts are mounted on the continuous profiled plastic member. This continuous profiled plastic member is then again stored. The continuous profiled plastic member is then cut to length to form a connector blank having a desired number of electrical contacts and a guide contour is then formed at the connector blank.

    Abstract: A contacting unit has a housing consisting of a base plate and a cover plate with a plastic frame. A printed circuit board, having a strip plug for contacting a computer slot and a contact field for contacting a chip card, is mounted between cover plate and base plate that such between the printed circuit board and the base plate an insertion channel is defined and such that the strip plug is located at a first narrow side of the housing. The printed circuit board is secured by the plastic frame. The insertion channel has an insertion guide located at the opposite narrow housing side. The base plate and the cover plate are separate stamped sheet metal parts, and at least the longitudinal edges have inwardly bent tabs. The base plate has plastic holders for securing opposite ends of the strip plug. The insertion guide is a profiled plastic member having a length matching the length of the narrow side.

The housing has an insertion slot at the first end face for receiving the card-shaped support. The housing has a plug-in contact at the second end face of opposite the insertion slot. The printed ciruit board is mounted in the housing. It is electrically connected to the plug-in contact. The printed circuit board includes contact elements for contacting the electronic components of the card-shaped support. A first one of the longitudinal sides has an open portion adjacent to the first end face. A second one of the longitudinal sides has an opening allowing insertion of the card-shape support into the housing in a plane of the housing and angled to the longitudinal sides.

    Abstract: A device for electrically contacting respective contacts of an electronic apparatus with an electronic card that has contacting poles one side thereof is provided. The electronic apparatus has a housing into which the electronic card with the side having the contacting poles leading is inserted via an insertion opening. The housing is provided with contact elements that corresponds to the contacting poles of the electronic card and with which the contacting poles of the electronic card after insertion of the card into the housing are in contact. The housing is also provided with a spring-type ejecting device for ejecting the electronic card. The electronic card is inserted directly between a bottom and a cover of the housing whereby the leading side of the electronic card directly contacts the contacting elements and at the same time loads the ejecting device. A releasable arresting device in the form of a catch is formed as an integral part of the housing and is disposed at the insertion opening.

    Abstract: A manually actuatable electric pushbutton switch that automatically returns to the starting position after actuation, especially such a switch for the keyboard of an electronic device, for example a typewriter, is provided. The switch has a plastic housing in which is disposed a plate spring that is in engagement with an actuating button. The plate spring has a region that during shifting of the actuating button and flexing of the plate spring abruptly jumps to a different position when the electrical contact position is achieved, so that the triggering function is indicated both physically as well as audibly to the user. The region of the plate spring that abruptly reverses is preferably formed by slots, between which the abruptly reversing plate spring strip is defined.
