  • Patent number: 10221561
Abstract: A fire or smoke protection curtain includes a textile fire protection element, which has a first side in the form of a front side and a second side in the form of a reverse side. The textile fire protection element can be put into a compact bearing arrangement and in a protection arrangement in which it counteracts the spread of a fire and/or smoke and while extending along a closing surface. At least one guide track guides the fire protection element while it is in the protection arrangement. The at least one guide track is designed to exert a holding force (FH) that counteracts a bulging of the fire protection element. The at least one guide track is designed to exert the holding force (FH) on the fire protection element to at least 80% from only one of the sides.

  • Patent number: 9127501
Abstract: A lead system for a fire/smoke protection device that enables deployment/retraction of the device's flexible protection member relative to a building wall opening and improves the member's resistance to forces. The system comprises lead guides for guiding the flexible protection member between storage and protection configurations, for permitting stretching when a force is applied, and for transferring forces to the building. The guides are configured with the flexible protection member to slidably receive member loops extending about lead members. The guides and lead members are also configured to allow lead member movement and permit elastic deformation or destruction of connections between certain internal guide components, when a force is exerted on the flexible protection member. Additionally, the system comprises one or more members configured with a flexible protection member having a bar to enable bar movement during stretching of the flexible protection member responsive to a force.

  • Publication number: 20140190709
Abstract: A smoke or fire protection device securely seals an opening for limiting the spread of fire and smoke through the opening of a building. A sealing lip and flexible ballast arranged at the foot of the opening of the building such that a flexible protection element is situated on the ground when the device is deployed to the protection arrangement. A locking device to lock a rod in an activated position when the device is deployed to said protection arrangement. The flexible protection element configured in a variety of arrangements using various materials and numerous construction methods. A lead guide for the device improves the resistance of the flexible protection member to forces exerted thereon. As such, the device may have certain advantages in limiting the spread of fire and smoke while resisting external forces and retaining mechanical strength and stability sufficient to pass the Hose Stream Test.

  • Patent number: 5373932
Abstract: A fire barrier apparatus includes a wall separating two adjacent spaces, extending in a predetermined plane and formed from a fire resistant material. The wall has an opening. The apparatus further includes a conveyor defining a conveyor path which extends through the opening. The conveyor has at least one conveyor element within the predetermined plane. A shutter is included within the range of the opening. The shutter is composed of fire resistant material and is movable towards the conveyor element and away from it between an open position where the opening is free and a closed position where the opening is shut off. At least part of the shutter is included in an encasing arrangement for encasing the conveyor element in the closed position of the shutter. Several embodiments are described.
