Patents Assigned to Stolmar Corporation
  • Patent number: 4012996
Abstract: Apparatus is disclosed for folding and compressing corrugated container blanks to which adhesive has been applied. The apparatus effects the formation of the completed container by folding the blank and subsequently compressing and maintaining it in the compressed position until the adhesive sets. The apparatus includes a conveyor and rail mechanism for folding the blanks, a center compression unit for compressing the central portion of the blank, a side compression unit for compressing the side portions of the blank, skate wheel rollers for maintaining compression, and a spring-loaded hold-down conveyor for accumulating the completed containers.

  • Patent number: 4007869
Abstract: Carton constructions for manufacture from corrugated sheets are disclosed. The constructions relate to the type wherein an automatic bottom is employed. When the carton is opened from its collapsed condition the bottom, which is interconnected, automatically deploys in a locked position. By use of particular dimensional arrangements for the bottom flaps, the usual tendency of such automatic bottom cartons to collapse once opened is eliminated as well as the problem of bridging in overlap configurations.

  • Patent number: 3964374
Abstract: An apparatus for producing a carton in a folded condition for storage and handling and whereby the carton can then be unfolded for use. The apparatus is designed for handling different types of blanks which, generally speaking, include a plurality of panels comprising side, top and bottom panels of the carton. The bottom panels are provided with flaps, and a first folding structure is provided for folding the bottom panels over onto adjacent side panels. Simultaneously, second folding means serve to fold flaps over onto the associated bottom panels, and adhesive applying means serve to locate adhesive on the blanks in selected positions.

  • Patent number: 3960313
Abstract: Carton constructions formed from corrugated blanks are disclosed. The automatic setup cartons are formed from blanks having side panels from which top and bottom panels extend on either side thereof. Tabs and slots, if provided, lock the carton in the assembled condition and are carried on the bottom panels which are folded and glued in a manner so as to provide the automatic setup feature.

  • Patent number: RE29442
Abstract: An apparatus for producing a carton whereby the carton is initially obtained in the folded condition for storage and handling and whereby the carton can then be unfolded for use. A third folding means folds the outside ends of the blank over onto the inside portions of the blank at which time folded flaps become adhesively secured. Additional adhesive or other handling means secure the outside ends of the assembly together whereby a flat condition of the carton is obtained.
