Abstract: The invention provides a tamper evident package for a solid oral drug dose that, after being opened, may be used for administering the dose to a patient without removing the dose from the package. The invention also provides a method for using a package for a solid oral drug dose as an aid in administering the dose contained within the package to a patient. The method of administering the packaged drug takes advantage of the normal swallowing reflex, thus facilitating oral ingestion of the dose, and positively identifies the drug up to an including the act of drug ingestion by the patient.
