  • Patent number: 4923181
Abstract: Leaf and wire form springs for use in the rear-seat storage compartments of Corvette motor cars. Either spring can be attached to the compartment frame and extend inwardly to engage the bottom of the push button housing. The spring allows the keeper finger on the frame to be engaged by the latch and hold the cover down. When the finger is released, the spring pushes the cover far enough upwardly so it can be grasped by the fingers and moved all the way open.

  • Patent number: 4863208
Abstract: For a Corvette rear-seat storage compartment, a spring connected between the compartment frame and a latch on the cover and arranged when the cover is in its closed position to develop an opening force urging the cover in a direction away from the closed position. The opening force of the spring, after the latch is disengaged from the keeper on the frame and after the force depressing the latch push button is removed, causing the cover and latch to rotate upwardly away from the closed position at a rate great enough to prevent the latch from re-engaging with the keeper and at a distance sufficient so that the cover can be grasped by the fingers and moved to a fully open position.

  • Patent number: 4677708
Abstract: For a Corvette motor car, a cam follower spring to be mounted on the fixed hinge plate on either door of the car and made of spring steel arranged in generally planar, S-shaped form and including a straight, elongated body, an upper bent section on one end of the body having a keeper slot whose locus is normal to the plane of the wire-form for use in receiving the forward edge of a keeper hole on the fixed hinge plate, a lower bent section on the other end of the body to be engaged by a cam whereby to create a plurality of detents for controlling opening and closing of the door and the lower bent section having a tip to extend into a rear keeper slot on the hinge plate and be retained by one end thereof, the tip being dimensioned to permit movement toward and away from the rear keeper slot end when the outside portion is engaged by the cam.
