  • Patent number: 4614326
Abstract: A concrete mold core assembly for casting catch basins and the like has outwardly facing form panels disposed to form a box with at least two corner members being located at diametrically opposite corners of the box between spaced adjoining edges of the panels and a lid overlies the ends of the form panels and corner members. Each corner member provides opposite side surfaces defining a tapered wedge that matingly inter-engages with the spaced adjoining edges of the form panels such that when the corner members are moved outwardly the core assembly is expanded into its casting condition and when moved inwardly the panels and members are stripped from the hardened concrete. The lid is coupled to the upper ends of the corner members to be raised to casting condition when the members are moved outwardly and lowered to be stripped from the hardened concrete when the members are moved inwardly.

  • Patent number: 4570896
Abstract: A concrete form unit for casting an inside corner structure has a pair of form panels disposed generally perpendicular to each other and an elongated corner member disposed between spaced adjoining edges of such panels with an actuator having relatively movable parts including a first part connected to the midsection of a yoke and a second part connected to the corner member. The ends of the yoke are guidingly connected to the form panels, respectively, and the adjoining edges of the form panels are guidingly coupled to opposite sides of the corner member by slidingly interengaging surfaces, these surfaces defining a tapered wedge where the corner member mates with the adjoining edges of the form panels.

  • Patent number: 4519570
Abstract: A form unit to cast the inside surfaces of a corner of a concrete structure has a pair of form panels disposed generally perpendicular to each other and an elongated corner member disposed between the adjoining edges of such panels with an actuator having relatively movable parts including a first part connected by parallelogram linkage to each of the form panels and a second part connected to the corner member so that when the actuator parts are moved together the form panels are butted against the outer edges of the corner member and when the actuator parts are moved apart the form panels are separated from the corner member. Holding means retains the corner member against displacement toward the panels while the form panels are being stripped from the hardened concrete and latch means holds the form panels against relative movement while the corner member is being stripped.

  • Patent number: 4447035
Abstract: For casting a concrete inside corner wall structure, the corner is defined by a corner member to extend lengthwise of the corner with the adjacent edges of a pair of form panels that are disposed generally perpendicular to each other being butted against the outer edges of the corner member and a control unit is interconnected with the form panels and the angle member to retain this relationship between the panels and angle member incident pouring and hardening of the concrete. The control unit has actuator means associated therewith operable to move the panel edges into abutment with the outer edges of the angle member prior to concrete pouring and to strip both the form panels and the angle member from the hardened concrete structure.

  • Patent number: 4333289
Abstract: In the support of a concrete form panel, an elongate beam, acting as a waler, is employed that is in the general cross-sectional shape of an I-beam having an outwardly opening pocket extending along one edge to retain a nailer for securing the beam to the form panel and a Y-shaped segment extending along the opposite beam edge. The Y-shaped segment is formed by legs which are parallel for one length thereof to define an outwardly opening cavity there between and then the legs diverge outwardly for a second length with oppositely directed flanges extending from the outer ends of the diverging second length of the legs. A bracket having a flat portion inserted into the beam cavity is secured in the cavity and has a tubular portion connected to the flat portion, the tubular portion accommodating a fastening element therewithin to fasten the bracket to a stiffener member, preferrably provided by spaced outwardly facing channels with the bracket tubular portion disposed between the channel webs.

  • Patent number: 4231541
Abstract: Apparatus for tying together concrete form panels includes an elongated tie and means attachable to a concrete form panel for clamping the tie to restrain relative movement between the tie and the form panel. The tie has end portions of a first transverse dimension and adjacent longitudinally inward portions of a second and smaller transverse dimension with a longitudinally outwardly sloped surface extending between each such inward portion and its adjacent end portion. The tie end portions may be either integral with the rest of the tie, or separate threaded members. The clamping means includes at least one member movable between a clamping position receiving the tie and a nonclamping position away from the tie. This clamping member has a recess for matingly receiving the longitudinally inward portion of the tie, and the portions of the clamping member adjacent the recess and distal the form panel engage the sloped surface of the tie when the clamping member is moved into the clamping position.

  • Patent number: 4219180
Abstract: Tying apparatus for holding concrete form panels in spaced relation has an elongated tie and clamping means attachable to a concrete form panel which is engageable with the tie to anchor the tie so as to restrain relative movement between the tie and the form panel wherein the clamping means comprises a bearing member fixedly connectible to the form panel and a clamping member pivotally secured in its preferred form to the bearing member by means of an axially and laterally yieldable pivot connection so that the clamping member can pivot and swing relative to the plane of the bearing member by way of a ball and socket type joint on mating surfaces of the bearing and clamping members to compensate for misalignment between the tie and the form panel or misalignment between opposing form panels. A positive lock retains the bearing and clamping members together when the clamping member is in its closed position.
