  • Patent number: 9870533
Abstract: A wearable apparatus may include a sensor configured to identify a characteristic of the wearable apparatus. The wearable apparatus may also include an activity tracker configured to identify an activity of a tracked individual. The wearable apparatus may further include a memory. The wearable apparatus may include a processor operatively coupled to the memory. The processor may be configured to receive portable autonomous decision logic via a network and execute the portable autonomous decision logic. When executing the autonomous decision logic, the processor is configured to receive the characteristic via the sensor, receive the activity via the activity tracker; determine a state of the tracked individual based on at least one of the characteristic or the activity; and generate an output based on the state of the tracked individual.

  • Patent number: 9762581
Abstract: A method to implement multifactor authentication of a user may include performing biometric authentication of a person that bears the wearable electronic device and at least one of: performing knowledge-based authentication of the person or presenting an access control token of the wearable electronic device to an access reader that performs token-based authentication of the person. Performing biometric authentication may include receiving a first biometric signal generated by a wearable electronic device and determining a person-specific biometric characteristic of the person therefrom; comparing the person-specific biometric characteristic to a user-specific biometric characteristic of the user determined from a second biometric signal generated when the wearable electronic device was born by the user; and based on the comparing, determining a confidence level that the person is the user to determine a positive or negative authentication of the person as the user.

  • Patent number: 9299036
Abstract: An example embodiment includes a life pattern detection system. The life pattern detection system includes a sensor, a data acquisition device, and a first processor. The sensor is configured to monitor actions of a user. The data acquisition device is configured to harvest signals from the sensor and produce sensor data. The first processor is configured to receive the sensor data and background data, and to execute a life pattern application including a first series of analytical steps that determines a predictable set of actions from the sensor data and the background data.

  • Patent number: 9033243
Abstract: In an embodiment, a method performed by a barcode rendering device for bonding the barcode rendering device with a mobile communication device is described. The method includes detecting a predetermined motion of a barcode rendering device. The method also includes detecting a first signal emitted by a mobile communication device, the first signal indicating that the mobile communication device is ready to bind with the barcode rendering device and to communicate information to the barcode rendering device. The method also includes binding with the mobile communication device in response to detecting both the predetermined motion and the first signal. The method also includes emitting a second signal indicating a readiness to receive the information from the mobile communication device. The method also includes receiving the information from the mobile communication device, the information including barcode data.

  • Publication number: 20130052620
Abstract: Platform mechanics including the generation and consumption of energy-based virtual currency are described. A method of generating energy-based virtual currency includes receiving a signal generated by a sensor carried by a user. The method also includes analyzing the signal to validate that an activity was performed by the user in the real world or that a state associated with the user occurred in the real world. The method also includes awarding energy-based virtual currency to the user in response to validating that the activity was performed by the user or that the state associated with the user occurred in the real world. A method of redeeming energy-based virtual currency includes receiving energy-based virtual currency that can be redeemed for value in a virtual world or in the real world. The method also includes redeeming at least some of the energy-based virtual currency for value in the real world.
