Abstract: Trapped moisture in the walls of a building structure may result in the building materials prematurely deteriorating unless there is a way for the moisture to escape. A rainscreen drainage mat provides an open cavity for the trapped moisture to escape by evaporation or gravity by draining the moisture out of the wall cavity. The multilayer laminate system includes a weather resistive barrier, drainage mat, and facer material as one application to be used within building structures to prevent moisture damage. In addition, the multilayer laminate system and method is configured to create a water resistive envelope at building material interfaces.
