Abstract: What is disclosed is generally directed to a simple, user-friendly, multipurpose, builder's stud-frame tool that is designed and engineered to help in laying-out and building typical 16-in. on-center, stud framing. The stud-frame tool is adapted to receive a stud on one end and a top plate or bottom frame plate on the other in order to facilitate easy placement, square-alignment, and fastening of a stud to a plate, resulting in no misaligned edges. In preferred embodiments, the stud-frame tool incorporates a two-dimensional bubble level or spirit level, has a light-weight, ergonomically designed handle, is substantially made of high-tensile-strength steel, and is powder-coated with thermoplastic or thermoset polymer to protect the tool surface and minimize chipping/scratching.
