Abstract: A chain saw guide bar having a lubricant feeding structure is capable of providing sufficient lubrication to the guide bar tip portion and has sufficient strength and durability during use over an extended period of time and, at the same time, has the weight of the guide bar reduced. The chain saw guide bar is made of a single plate and is provided with a lubricant supply port made in a base end portion of the guide bar surface, a bottomed recess groove running continuously from the lubricant supply port to a tip portion and bottomed holes located on the bottomed recess groove. The side walls of the holes and the recess groove are tilted to increase the widths of the cross sections of the recess groove and the hole toward the bottom.

Abstract: A guide bar for a chain saw, the bar having oppositely located flat sides. A plurality of recesses are formed in each of the sides, the recesses on one side being offset from the recesses on the other side. At least some of the recesses are filled with a lightweight material. Some of the recesses may also function as oil reservoirs and oil passages between the guide grooves of the bar.

Abstract: A chain saw guide bar including an inner plate and a pair of outer plates fixed to both flat sides of the inner plate. The inner plate has holes formed therethrough. The outer plates also have holes formed therethrough, but they are smaller than the holes of the inner plate. The outer holes are each aligned with one of the inner holes, and the holes are filled with a lightweight material.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to a guide bar for a saw chain which includes a pair of side plates and a center plate laser welded to and between the side plates. The center plate has a peripheral edge which is spaced inwardly from the outer periphery of the side plates so as to form a peripheral guide channel or groove for the chain. The disclosure further relates to a method of making a three-plate guide bar wherein the plates are laser welded together.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to a chain saw guide bar including a main or body part and a front part. The two parts fit together in a tongue-and-groove joint having a V configuration, and the parts are secured together by fasteners such as rivets. A chain guide groove is formed in the periphery of the two parts, and the front part may include a rotatable sprocket for the chain.
