    Abstract: The method of manufacturing corks consists of punching the corks out from a block which is formed by moulding and then baking. At least one of the major surfaces of the block forms part of a sheet made from strips of natural cork previously placed side-by-side and glued together, with their pores arranged parallel to the plane of the said surface, the remaining portion of the block consisting of cork agglomerate.
