Abstract: A method is provided for producing a sintered zirconia article excellent in thermal shock resistance and high in sintered density. The method comprises mixing zirconia powder as the starting material and a stabilizing agent with a definite amount of partially stabilized zirconia powder, shaping and sintering the mixture, and heat treating it under specific temperature conditions.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of producing an aluminum impact extrusion by preparing a slug of an aluminum based alloy made of aluminum and at least one element selected from cobalt and nickel, whereas the amounts of the cobalt and nickel are each present in amounts of 3% by weight or less and wherein the total amount of cobalt and nickel is 0.15% by weight or more; impact extruding the slug by using an impact extrusion press, and then annealing the extruded product. The present invention also involves an aluminum base alloy consisting of the ingredients mentioned above useful for impact extrusion and an aluminum collapsible tube prepared by impact extruding a slug stud of an aluminum base alloy of the type described above.
Abstract: An apparatus for filling an anode paste in an anode hole formed when an anode contact stud is pulled out from the anode of a vertical Soderberg aluminum electrolytic cell comprises horizontally moveable anode paste charging arm with an anode paste conveying means and a hopper for storing the anode paste and feeding the paste to the anode paste charging arm when required, the arm and the hopper being provided at a support movable along the electrolytic cell.
