Publication number: 20140338449Abstract: A vibratory gyroscope is provided comprising a plurality of secondary pickoff transducers which are each sensitive to the secondary response mode, wherein: at least two of the secondary pickoff transducers comprise skew transducers designed to be sensitive to the primary mode which produce an induced quadrature signal in response thereto. A method of using the gyroscope is provided comprising the steps of arranging electrical connections between the secondary pickoff transducers and a pickoff amplifier so that in use the induced quadrature signal is substantially rejected by the amplifier in the absence of a fault condition, and the amplifier outputs an induced quadrature signal when a fault condition disconnects one of the skew transducers from the amplifier, and a comparator compares the quadrature output from the pickoff amplifier with a predetermined threshold value and provides a fault indication when the predetermined threshold is exceeded.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 27, 2012Publication date: November 20, 2014Applicants: SUMITOMO PRECISION PRODUCTS COMPANY LIMITED, ATLANTIC INERTIAL SYSTEMS LIMITEDInventors: Michael Durston, Takafumi Moriguchi, Ryuta Araki

Patent number: 5593175Abstract: In a leg apparatus with which a supporting wheel for the magnetically levitated vehicle can be lifted up and down freely, a supporting wheel is positioned and hung by a swing arm and a lifting actuator. Usage of only the lifting actuator flat spring having a damper and coil spring or a combination thereof offer a buffer-supporting to enhance better comfortable feeling of riding. The leg can be completely retracted with a short stroke by a contracting action of the lifting actuator having the internal lock. Moreover the vehicle height can be adjusted. The leg apparatus is also designed and constructed in such a way that a damper or spring is installed inside the preventive wall against fire or foreign obstacles.Type: GrantFiled: May 22, 1995Date of Patent: January 14, 1997Assignees: Railway Technical Research Institute, Sumitomo Precision Products Company LimitedInventors: Kazuhiro Oda, Masayoshi Azakami, Hideyuki Takizawa, Fumio Iwamoto, Shoji Iwai

Patent number: 4400610Abstract: Disclosed is an automatic fillet weld tracing mechanism for two materials to be welded which are arranged stepwise and parallel to each other. A first motor driving mechanism is positioned at a fixed height and vertically reciprocates a first driven member having secured thereto a first sensor, said first sensor being positioned adjacent a first material to be welded with a given gap therebetween. A second driving mechanism is fixed to the first driven member and vertically reciprocates a second driven member to which is attached a second sensor held adjacent a second material to be welded with a given gap therebetween. The second driving mechanism also drives a third driving mechanism via a differential having a predetermined gear ratio. The third driving mechanism vertically reciprocates a third driven member having a welding torch attached thereto, the welding torch being positioned to weld at the gap between the materials.Type: GrantFiled: June 22, 1981Date of Patent: August 23, 1983Assignee: Sumitomo Precision Products Company LimitedInventors: Masahiro Murakami, Kazuo Aotsuka

Patent number: 4347421Abstract: Herein disclosed is an automatic welding apparatus which comprises an arcuate frame including a welding unit and a pair of wire feeders, and an arcuate frame including a running truck and a pair of clamping mechanisms for fastening the outer circumference of a pipe to be welded. The aforementioned two arcuate frames are detachably connected at two positions thereby to form a ring shape. Thus, the pipe is automatically welded while the truck is being made to run in the circumferential direction. The running truck of the welding apparatus thus constructed carries both a mechanism for effecting close contact with the outer circumference of the pipe and a shock absorbing mechanism so that the distance between the leading end of a welding torch and the outer circumference of the pipe may be constant at all times.Type: GrantFiled: February 11, 1981Date of Patent: August 31, 1982Assignee: Sumitomo Precision Products Company LimitedInventors: Mutsuo Mukuda, Masahiro Murakami, Kazuo Aotsuka
