  • Patent number: 9981614
Abstract: A fastener is provided for mounting a first structure having an insertion rib with a retention slot to a second structure having a mounting opening. The fastener includes a U-shaped body having a bight portion at an upper portion thereof with a pair of outer legs depending therefrom. Each of the pair of outer legs terminates at a distal free end to engage an edge of the mounting opening when the U-shaped body penetrates the mounting opening. A pair of inner legs extends from the distal free ends of the outer legs toward the bight portion. The pair of inner legs has an intermediate protrusion configured to engage the insertion rib and bear against a stop in the retention slot to retain the U-shaped body on the first structure.

  • Patent number: 7510158
Abstract: A vehicular beverage container holder comprises a receptacle with an elongated compartment and an adjuster assembly mounted to the receptacle to define separate beverage container compartments within the compartment for receiving individual beverage containers. The adjuster assembly comprises a body and a pair of adjusters slidably mounted to and extending from opposite sides of the body. Rotation of a knob and gear assembly of the adjuster assembly effects movement of the adjusters relative to the body to adjust the sizes of openings for the beverage container compartments for accommodating a range of beverage container sizes. Additionally, the knob and gear assembly includes a slip clutch mechanism that enables movement of one of the adjusters while movement of the other of the adjusters is retarded by a beverage container.

The fastener comprises a U-shaped body having a bight portion at an upper portion thereof with a pair of outer legs depending therefrom. Each of the pair of outer legs has an outer surface adapted to receive an edge of the mounting opening to removably mount the outer legs to the second structure, and a pair of inner legs between the pair of outer legs. The pair of inner legs cooperate to define at least in part an elongated channel therebetween having opposing inner surfaces adapted to receive the insertion rib. Each of the inner legs has, at a lower portion thereof, a retainer adapted to be received within the retention slot.

  • Patent number: 6059652
Abstract: An improved ventilation register for a vehicle and the like is provided which comprises an elongated housing adapted to be mounted in a vehicle and having an inlet opening adapted to be connected to a source of air and an outlet opening adapted to distribute the air into a vehicle compartment. A grille assembly is mounted in the outlet opening of the elongated housing and comprising a grille housing having an inlet opening in register with the inlet opening of the elongated housing and an outlet opening in register with the outlet opening of the elongated housing. At least one directional vane can be mounted in the grille housing which is adapted to direct the flow of air passing through the outlet opening of the elongated housing.

  • Patent number: 5628486
Abstract: A container holder assembly for holding beverage containers is adapted for mounting in a vehicle. The holder includes a housing for insertion in a vehicle, the housing having an open front. Two container retaining arms are mounted in the housing for movement from a retracted position within the housing to an extended position outside the housing. The arms form at least a portion of the container holder. A door is pivotably mounted to the housing for movement between a substantially vertical closed position covering the opening in the housing and an open substantially horizontal position forming a supporting shelf for a container. An actuator comprising a cam on the door and a follower on one of the arms and mounted between the door and the arm to pivot the arm from the extended position to the retracted position as the door moves between the open position and the closed position.

  • Patent number: 5364303
Abstract: An air vent comprising a first row of air vanes for controlling the lateral orientation of air emitted from the air vent and a second row of air vanes for controlling the vertical orientation of air emitted from the air vent. The first and second row of air vanes can be adjusted independently. The first row of air vanes has a control vane to which is mounted a control knob. The control knob is connected to the second row of air vanes by a ball joint mounted pin, whereby the vertical movement of the control knob results in rotation of the second row of air vanes about a horizontal axis. The control knob is connected to the first row of air vanes by links. The lateral movement of the control knob results in a corresponding parallel rotational movement of the first row of air vanes to control the lateral position of a concentrated stream of the air emitted from the air vent.
