Abstract: Solvent-based pigmented ceramic inkjet ink compositions including a solvent blend consisting predominantly of one or more hydrophobic solvent(s) (preferably one or more hydrophobic long chain hydrocarbon solvent(s)) are capable of achieving superior print quality when applied over unfired glazes by the inclusion of less than 10% by weight of the composition of a water-soluble solvent, especially glycol ethers. These ink compositions are particularly suited to ceramic tile decoration via the double fast firing process, with resulting improvements in absorption, color strength and print definition.

Abstract: In order to maintain adequate bond strength of a composite in which a gas barrier coating comprising a clay dispersion and a polymer solution or dispersion of a PVA and/or EVA is positioned between two flexible plastics films using an adhesive, it is necessary that the clay dispersion and the polymer solution or dispersion should be kept separate until shortly before they are to be applied.

Abstract: This invention relates to non-aqueous coating and ink formulations for use on flexible film or paper packages for food, which require aseptic packaging conditions. The printed and coated packaging materials, and methods of aseptic packaging, as well as the aseptic packages are also disclosed. The coating formulation comprises the following components: 1) a mixing varnish comprising a phenolic-modified co-solvent-type polyamide resin, 2) a nitrocellulose compound varnish, 3) a non-aqueous solvent mixture, and 4) specialty additives, and wherein all components present in the formulation are stable in the presence of an oxidizing agent.
