Abstract: Apparatus for detecting a dry bearing condition utilizes an ultrasonic transducer which is intermittently pulsed a certain number of times by a microprocessor and associated circuitry. The number of return pulses received by the ultrasonic transducer is detected by the microprocessor and is used to determine whether a dry bearing condition exists.
