  • Patent number: 6634183
Abstract: In a chemical heat pump a substance is used which within the temperature range for which the heat pump is intended has a transition between a solid phase and a solution phase. The substance can for a solar driven chemical heat pump comprise magnesium chloride hexahdrate. In an accumulator part of the heat pump a heat exchanger (21) is provided enclosed by a net (23). The solid phase is primary located inside the net in contact with the heat exchanger while the solution phase flow out of the net and is collected in space (24′) below the heat exchanger. From this space the solution phase is pumped and sprayed over the heat exchanger from a spray bar (25). Thereby, all the time equilibrium is maintained. The advantage including the constant temperature step and the relatively large energy content of solid substance is thereby combined with the high power of liquid substances.

  • Patent number: 4221239
Abstract: An insulated conduit composed of an inner structural tubing with each length or bend of said tubing having a bell socket at one end with a matching spigot joint at the other end, and so arranged that one is enabled to assemble comparitively long continuous lengths of the insulated conduit. Resting blocks are placed at appropriate position and distances within the inner structural tubing whereby energy carrying piping may be inserted within the inner structural tubing and rest upon said blocks. The energy carrying piping is protected from loss of heat energy by the insulative value of the ambient air within the inner structural tubing and also by the inclusion of inert air spaces located between a series of structural ribs which form a support between the inner structural tubing and an outer insulation jacket.

  • Patent number: 4215670
Abstract: A device designed to extract heat from a fire or flames, and by the principle of conduction and convection channel this same heat into the desired or required area or system. The principle used is to immerse the structural members which are formed from materials which are good conductors of heat and resistant to deterioration or destruction by the temperatures found in fire, heat, or flames and have the structural members provide the heat where so desired. The structural members may be of solid construction throughout or they may be fashioned from hollow members with a gaseous or liquid type conductor or convector of heat of the heat pipe type within the same structural members. As the portion of the structural members contained in the fire absorb heat, this heat will be conducted to where it is desired by the aforementioned principle of conduction or convection. There is an air deflection system composed of two parts, one of which is the cooking plate and the other the curved deflector surface.
