Abstract: An apparatus and method provide effective video transmission in a communication system that supports an Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) service between heterogeneous networks. A request for a contiguous service is received from a terminal during a mid-point of a video stream. A delay time that may be generated when the video contents are transmitted is estimated for each of a patching type and a fast broadcasting type. A transmission type with a shorter delay time for the video contents is determined based on the estimated delay time for each of the patching type and the fast broadcasting type. And the video contents are transmitted to the terminal by applying the determined transmission type.

Abstract: Disclosed is a system and a training sequence setting method for performing frame synchronization in a wireless communication system. A received signal is affected by a frequency offset due to an oscillator mismatch between the transmitter and the receiver, which is one of the main causes of performance degradation of frame synchronization. In a prior Constant Amplitude Zero Auto-Correlation (CAZAC) sequence, the larger the frequency offset becomes, the more conspicuously the performance degradation of the frame synchronization occurs. The proposed training is designed to maintain a prior CAZAC property during a differential detection so as to perform a differential detection-based frame synchronization sequence insensitive to the frequency offset. As a result of performance verification, the proposed training sequence indicates that its performance of the frame synchronization is irrespective of the frequency offset, and has a better performance than the prior CAZAC sequence and random sequence.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method for fractional frequency reuse with ordering scheme (FFRO) to increase capacity of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems while reducing interference due to the use of a common sub-channel set. Abstract: There is provided an apparatus for decreasing an inrush current which comprises a power system including a transformer, and a superconducting fault current limiter electrically connected to the transformer. A resistance value of the superconducting fault current limiter is calculated by using a variation of the inrush current and a variation of the voltage drop of the power system according to a value of insertion resistance. In the apparatus for decreasing the inrush current, the optimal resistance value considering both the decrease rate of the inrush current and the voltage drop by the insertion of the superconducting fault current limiter is decided as the resistance value of the superconducting fault current limiter. Accordingly, the power system is efficiently operated depending on the characteristics of the power system in which the superconducting fault current limiter is installed.
